As a Wings fan I can honestly say Dan Ellis impressed me today.  No matter what happens for the rest of the series he will be a factor...he almost stole today's game for you guys.

Great minds think alike!  I was just coming on here to say the same thing.  Ellis is a beast.   He kept them in that game the entire time with over 50 saves.  If the Preds would've won that game, every guy on the bench would have needed to give Ellis their paycheck for the game.   No offense, but I'm pulling for Nashville.

Without Ellis this series would have been 4-0 and embarassing.  As it ended, everyone knows Detriot is twice as talented as Nashville and that Nashville has a damn good tender.  Problem lies with Ellis needing a contract.  Will the new owners step up?

Nashville can't afford to have any injuries as long as they remain a "small market" team.

no one can, not anymore. Long gone are the days of drafting for 5 years down the road or longer and peppereing the roster with high quallity vets ( i.e. Redwings before the lockout)

That being said, the Predators needed all hands on deck to beat a more talented and veteran squad. Dan Ellis sure made it closer than most in the hockey world would have ever thought at the begining of the season; I never once thought we would have been anywhere other than in the basement of the Central.

Kudos to the Redwings on a good series, Dan Ellis for making it closer than it should have been, and Barry Trotz for getting us to the playoffs in the first place!
