I know it's early and the AL Central is probably the last division any team wants to be in come September, but so far so good, right.  Let's hope the bottom 3 beat up on each other, while KC follows the same path as they did under Pena a few year back - great first half, then crash and burn.

Who will be AL Central Champs in 2008?

I'm biased. Go Sox!!!

But honestly, seeing the pitching of late has me believing we have the horses to go the distance this season.

To m it looks like the Indians and the Tigers are going to fall in to deep a hole to climb out of this year....could it be the Sox will have to fight the Royals to win the AL Central crown this year.......................GO SOX

As a sox fan, you know I want my boys to win it all.. But man.. I was at the Sox/O's game last night and again, another great pitching performance by Gavin..   Bullpen.. ehhh.. (Jenks looked pretty bad, but only his first blown save...)   But the sox should won this game very easily..  The two miss ground balls muffed by Paulie and Joe led to runs as well as AJ's bad throw to 1st base to get Millar after the struck out..  We cannot have this happen.  Both balls that were missed were routine groundballs and AJ looked like he took his sweet time to toss the ball to first.. MIllar wasn' t even running hard.. All that overshadow's CQ's great game at the plate (and I caught one of his foul balls...  :-)  Bottom line is in order to win the Central, you HAVE to win the games you SHOULD win!  Come on boys... Still in first place, but we let this one get away....  Lets hand TB a good ole' fashioned butt whopping tonight....

GO SOX!!!!

I agree Scotty2, the Sox can't aford to blow games they have in the bag.  On the other hand I would really like to see this club rack up some come from behind Ws this season, especially against teams like Cleveland.  While I stil believe the Sox have a chance to win the division this year, I picked the Indians because I feel like they have all the right pieces in place.  For me it's all about making the post-season, that means every game counts, we need to take at least 2/3 from the Rays

As it is right now I think the Indians will be the team on top in the Central. That said, I think the Sox could finish second and will be in contention for the Wild Card spot.

Anything can happen in this division.

It's always tough to tell until the trade deadline comes and go's, But it sure looks like it's the Indians for the taking. Detroit will start to hit and will win some games but the other 3 look like .500 teams ( +/- 5 games) and shouldn't factor in much later in the season. The minor league  systems always come into play for top teams and only the Indians and Twins are the only ones that  have any value in this division, the Tribe have enough to make a strong play for another starter but the Twins won't take on any salary this year.

It all stacks up looking like it should be easy for the Indians this year.I'll say by 15 + games.

If the Sox could play Detroit 145 times a year they might be fine, but now they are right were they should be against the rest of the league.

The Sox are doing very good so far all the other teams are pretty much choking. The team we have competition with is the Royals. This year I predicted that the Sox's record would be 81-81. Now i think they might have 91-71. They will lead the division or at least wild card. Hey were leading the AL now
