Years from now, I will never consider Love to be "one of the greats to play at UCLA." He is a one-and-done loser who talked about how much he "loved and respected" the tradition at UCLA, and how much we wanted to hang the 12th banner... blah blah blah.
Not only that, but he took a starting position from Mata in his final season of playing basketball. I would have rather had Mata play for us all year.
Love is a one-and-done loser and will never be considered a true Bruin by myself. I don't "appreciate what he did for us." What did he do? Wow, he "led" us to yet another Final Four. Woopdedoo....

I actually agree with the Brad Miller comparison made. He really does not fit in the NBA in my mind, he is a PF but he is not real athletic. He will play in the NBA for ten years, maybe sneak into an All-Star game but I really don't expect much out of him. No matter how long he spent in college, he was not going to be a good pro.

Love will not do anything in the pros. He will have a very unproductive career and will never become a franchise player.I couldn't stand his arrogant attitude all year. He thought we was UCLA's savior or something, not realizing the fact that we went to 2 final fours BEFORE he arrived in Westwood. Farmar, Afflalo, Shipp, and Mata were the pioneers of our new era in UCLA basketball. Love is a blip on the timeline. He did not contribute anything to UCLA other than wasting scholarship money.

Dude, you're an idiot. You can't blame these players for using the system that they are in. Sure he only played for one season, but it was one heck of a season. Just because he is leaving early didn't mean he didn't leave his heart and soul on teh floor, it didn't mean that he didn't give it his all and kill himself for the team. Get over yourself man. His stock has nowhere to go but down, so what was the motivation to stay. What happens if he misses all of next year with an injury. Then he's screwed. Time for a reality check dude.

MATA is the biggest waste of Space in the history of college basketball. He is a tool and he had no business on the team or a team for that matter.

Then why didn't Love go waste a scholarship at Oregon for a year? Why did he come to UCLA talking about "not leaving until he hangs #12" (and yes, he DID say that).
Mata-Real, who has BUSTED HIS A$$ EVER SINCE HE'S BEEN AT UCLA, gave up his starting position for a one-and-done loser who couldn't get the job done. Love and his arrogant, smug attitude all year was useless in the end.
Don't give me the, "you can't blame the players for using the system they are in." Since he KNEW he was going to be a one-and-done, he should have just pulled a Beasley and gone to a crappy school like Oregon or Kansas State to waste a scholarship here at UCLA. Instead, he came and bumped out a starter from LAST YEAR'S final four, and kissed John Wooden's feet talking about tradition and being "mentioned with Kareem and Walton," and pulls a one-and-done after LOSING in the Final Four.
Kevin Love is not a Bruin. He just occupied a jersey for one year.

And for the record, Trevor Ariza is not a Bruin either.
Guys like Farmar, Afflalo, Collison, Baron Davis, Shipp, Mbah...etc... They ARE Bruins.

You would have rather Mata play because he stayed for 4 years?? So that UCLA wasn't Final Four caliber? That makes no sense. This isn't the kiddie league at age 5 where you play everyone. The best deserve to be on the court and that was Kevin Love.
Your comments are quite selfish...Love may have respected UCLA and the tradition but that doesn't mean he is going to stay for 4 years. Look at it objectively...the guy is leaving school guaranteed a few million dollars at the worst...you seriously think he should pass that up? I mean he could have a bad injury next season and not ever be the same....at least he would have security from being in the NBA. You cannot expect someone to pass up millions to bring your beloved school a national title. Be happy he brought you another Final Four...be happy he picked UCLA dont redicule him for making a right decision.

Wasting a scholarship thats about the dumbest thing to say as well. UCLA does not rebuild...they reload...so having a 1 and done player won't hurt them. Plus why not experience that one year at a school like UCLA a big time program rather then some mid major or lower class school?
If you didnt know Beasley picked Kansas State because his AAU coach is there as an assistant...not to mention because of initially being recruited by Huggins.
