14,
I absolutely respect what they have done. No doubt about it. But it still doesn't mean that it is your division now when you have finished 3rd two years in a row. Whoever wins the division the year before is their division and until they get knocked off will always be. it was the Braves division for 14 years and now it is the Phillies. From a historical perspective, 2 years isn't that big of a deal. I say that the Braves own the east for 7 years after the streak ends, assuming that we don't win another title in that time frame, an unlikely possiblity. 14 out of 21 is pretty good, no? Obviously the streak doesn't have any effect on this years outcome, but it's the Braves' division until the Mets/Phillies prove it isn't over an extended period of time.

Had the Braves won 14 world series championships it would have been (the classic anti-Yankee argument) " Oh they bought it with there obsene payroll.." or maybe a couple key players on the AL would get hurt and it would have been "They were playing against a depleted team..." Its always something. At least I am willing to say the Yankees are the greatest team in MLB history, regardless of my personal distain for them. People should be able to at least say that the Braves where the greatest NL team in the 90s.

So you want it put up there with the "one of the greatest team achievments ever." beacuse "it happens"?
Sorry, but the Toronto Blue Jays repeat in 92-93 blows the Braves 14 in a row out of the water.
It's not even close.
Division titles are like 3rd place ribbons if you don't finish.
My god. This is the most idiotic statement I've ever seen. You sir, are an idiot. It's not like the Braves never won a title. 1 isn't a great ratio, but it's not the worst. Yes, "it happens".

500,
Fine, throw division titles completly out of the equation. the Braves won a WS in the 90's. The Blue Jays won 2. Not exactly "blown out of the water", wouldn't you say?

You sir, are an idiot.
The last stage of losing an argument is name calling.
If I dated 14 hot chicks and only got laid once, I certainly wouldn't call it a great accomplishment.
Nevermind, enjoy your division titles.
Yankee fans get as much satisfaction out of division titles as we do a glass of water, I'm sorry your standards are so low.

Ryanh, so the Braves were in the playoffs every year in the 90s, and made how many WS appearances? I thought so.
You might get the label the best team of the NL East of the 90s, but unless you can show a domination of the NL as a whole during that time then I think you are pushing it.

4. Big deal. 4/109 is not bad at all, and neither is 1/14.

Heiti,
Also, no other NL team made the WS more than once during the 90's.
