I never disagreed with you, but getting people on in front of Prince didnt hurt either. Anyways, the question now becomes whether Yost will keep Hart there.

Question guys (this belongs in another thread but my computer feels the need to load one page an hour so ill just post here...)
Holy Brewers bullpen, way to come back and pull one out.
What are the thoughts on Gagne after today's game? Improvement, staying the same, or getting worse? He got the save today, so obviously job well done with that. I know he's only blown 2 but you've got to admit, he seems to be making somewhat of a habit out of making it more difficult that it really is(or should be?) The leadoff double (which Braun almost got to and I would then have to rethink my sterotypes on him in left- thank God he didn't!) followed by the walk. After that, he tightened the screws and got the next three so no harm done.
I'm obviously not a Brewer fan, but flipping back and forth between the Brewers-Cards, game and the Cubs getting spanked, in the 10th I just felt here "we" (actually not me but you guys) go again... Is that just me, or do any brewer fans feel similar?

I'm not worried about Gagne yet. I think he's just trying too hard. I really think he'll come around, similar to Fielder and Braun. Talk to me again in a couple weeks. If he's still struggling, then I'll start panicking.

I think Gagne has some things left to prove, but at this point he is doing everything you could ask. He blew one save in Chicago in difficult conditions, and blew another on basically a pop up that carried. The two saves in New York were one, two, three so I'm not sure he is really making anything all to difficult. You could also look around the league and find many many closers that have had thier trouble early including Mr Wood. His velocity is good and his breaking stuff has been good to filthy. I dont view him as a shut down closer but he should end up converting at a 90% clip which is more than enough for a contending team.

I think I could speak for most Brewer's fans when I say that I get nervious when he is on the mound. That is never a good thing with your closer. He has some good stuff but he isn't very accuate right now. He still could be a good closer if he could get his control down.

citron, the lineup didn't win them the game you tool. J.J. was 0-4. So was Corey. Gross was 0-3. The only guys that were successful were the ones they DIDN'T move and Craig Counsell. I don't have a problem with Craig getting a day here and there, but for the most part you have to pick a lineup and stick with it. It's amazing that there are so many calls for changing the everyday lineup when the everyday lineup has been used in 0 GAMES so far this year.
When exactly have you been right? You've been calling for McClung's head, Gross to be OUT of the lineup, saying how great Joe Dillon is, and whatever else... and haven't been right about any of it. Prince (for the most part) isn't going to get pitches to hit no matter who's behind him. Besides, I wouldn't exactly call the pitch Prince hit for a double a good pitch to hit, and the curve that he homered on was an OBVIOUS mistake.

On Gagne, no, and where are we going again. He blew two saves, the opener (I'll give him a mulligan there) and one where I guy hit a solo homer. If a guy hits a solo homer to beat you, you have to live with it. At least it wasn't a 2-run homer to lose the game.

Obviously better; he wasn't flawless today like the last two outings, but Dana Demuth (homeplate umpire) is notorius for having the smallest strikezone in all of baseball and Gagne issues a questionable walk. The hit he gave up was on a really good pitch, it was just a great piece of hitting by...I wanna say Miles, but i'm unsure on who it was. Gagne's velocity has been there all season (consistently 92-94 and reaching 96 on occasion) and if he continues to dominate with his command, look out opposition.
So to sum it up, Coco wasn't very "stress free" for us last year so I have become accustomed to late inning stress. For how poorly Gagne started the season, it sure is tough to bash him now. He's been very good lately and you can't argue with the results.
