	Georgia was paid 4.5 million for the bowl appearance being the second team selected from the SEC. Some of that 4.5 million was distributed to SEC schools. LSU was paid the 17 million because they were the SEC champ. Its amazing how many of these errors you see in articles.

	Georgia will receive $8.5 million as the 2nd SEC team. Champions get the full share, 2nd teams from a conference, as well as Notre Dame, Army or Navy (if they get a BCS invite) get a half share. 17 / 2 = 8.5!

	The teams that go to these games should not have to pay the rest of the conference. They go through all that work and the terrible teams get a piece of the pie.

	http://www.bcsfootball.org/id/7212064_37_1.pdf This gives a great rundown of the payouts. The second team from a conference with an automatic berth gets 4.5 mill for the conference. LSU gets 17 mill for the conference. LSU and UGA will get a bigger portion for their apperances, but the entire amount is divided among the entire conference.

	You are wrong. The SEC received $17 Million from the UGA appearance in the Sugar Bowl. UGA received a large portion of that. LSU did not get $17 million either. All bowl money is sent to the SEC and they distribute the money to all of the SEC schools on a pro-rated basis.

	THANK YOU cowspackle! finally someone who uses the internet to learn something instead of just spout I-pinions out their... here's the text: The share to each conference with an annual automatic berth in the BCS <nobr> (ACC, Big East, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-10 and SEC) is approximiately $17 million. If a second team from one of those conferences qualifies to play in one of the games, that conference will receive an additional $4.5 million.</nobr>
