I'm sure the Clay man will attend the games, next year in his own backyard of OKC. Two years ago this team looked like it had some playoff potential. After this year's pathetic showing, no wonder Bennett decided to sit this one out. I'd bet Bennett is anxious to move them into a new environment and rebuild them from the ground up.

Boomer......your stupidity is truly remarkable on these posts. I want you to expound on this part of your post above "Maybe if you would have shown all this support for your old team/our new team a while back, none of this would be happening!".......you ignorant "bleep"hole.
Do you realize other than this year when Clay decided to pull the Sonics off the only sports radio station in town and put it on some strange right wing station with a signal of 5 miles, limit player interviews on that sports station to one per week, lie to the public of Seattle, Gov't, etc.......THAT, the Sonics have ranked in the top half of the league in attendance in terms of percentage of seats sold every single year for over 20 years? Seattle has always shown support for this team.
You sir, are a clown. You ought to wear big red shoes and a big red nose before posting here. Your points are comical. OKC might well support an NBA team well, but Seattle has a track record of doing it for decades you ignorant idiot.

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA..........SeattleFan..... it is one thing for all of us to disrespect each other, and our states with these childish comments............but it is another thing to support the LongHorns. That is just taking it to far!!!!! I thought you guys were fighting fair!!! It hurts.....it really really hurts..............I think I am done posting for good. By the way which ever way the verdict goes Friday, I will be the 1st one to come back to these boards......and either (hopefully) gloat........or rightfully pat you seattle-ites on the back for your never give up attitude. I know its tough with it raining all the time......but kudos!!!

Ignorant idiot= Someone who sells something to another party, then decides almost two years later they have the right to sue to get it back!!!! Wonder if Schultz cashed that check back in 06? Wonder if he was concerned with any of this on his way to the bank to cash that check?? Look Hawk, what it boils down to is that YOUR gov't officials didn't express any interest in doing what it took to ensure something like this wouldn't happen, BEFORE Bennett bought the team. Now they are comming in last minute trying to save face before elections and in the mean time just stirring up the fans like you, kinda leading you on. I understand it probably hurts to think of losing something some of your people cared about, but those gov't officials don't just end up in office, someone voted them in at some point. You should direct your anger towards them, get the right people in office to support a new arena, and hope you can get a team back in the near future because it is too late with this team...... Owners on OKC side, Commish on OKC side, OKC gov't officials have taken ALL steps required to ensure things get done right, and citizens voted to approve it all. It's virtually a done deal, not a matter of if, but when........................
BTW- If you catch our first home game on tv, look for me, I'll be wearing the big red shoes and big red nose;)

First Boomer if you are going to write into the contract a letter stating that you will make a good faith effort to keep the team in Seattle then you can't be talking to your partners during that year period about moving the team. And you can't have a partner come out and say as much.
Second if you do not get the financing, you could only ask to get of the lease by buying it out. However, if the city turns you down you can't go to court to try and get out of the lease. This was also a part of the agreement. He had to stay until the end of the lease.
Basically Bennett is in total violation of the sale agreement.

OKC Fans, two things you're failing to see here.
1. Schultz is suing over a contract that was not lived up to. He has grounds and might win.
2. The owners vote means nothing. The owners are going to vote in favor of the move to protect themselves when they need the rest of the league to support them. It's not about that vote, it's about the court of law. Bennett is being everywhere. He has roughly 3 lawsuits against him. One by the City for violating his contract, one by Howard Shultz for violating his contract, one by the fans of Seattle for lying about season ticket sales(another contract). If we buy them last year, he would not only not move the team but not raise prices for 3 years.

actually the reason why government officials in Seattle didnt want to give the sonics a new arena is because billions of dollars was already spent making Safeco Field for the Mariners, and Quest Field for the Seahawks and they didnt want to spend anymore money destroying and building new playing fields and it dosent matter who in OKC decides, or vote ,or approve on what if Clay Bennett violated the contract that was written in stone they we do have a case and if we win it looks like you can watch the sonics on TV playing in key arena but you can still wear your big red shoes and big red nose

Soonerzack - haha to funny.
I think the real genius is Howard Schultz.... if and I mean if! This was his idea the whole time. Howard -"Hmm i sell this team to redneck country bumpkin (just an analogy chill out) and then dont have to eat two years of a losing team then come back in before they try and move and keep the team and make myself look great and sell BILLIONS in coffee!" muahahaha. Got to hand it to those Jews for knowing what to do with their money man.
