Here is a good read on Jackson...

Jackson, though small, has amazing quickness and explosion, which compensates for his lack of height. He has deft ball-handling skills which he combines with his athleticism to make him a very effective penetrator. He also has very good passing skills, easily locating open teammates for shots. Jackson needs to excersie more patience on the offensive end, sometimes shooting a litte too much and getting out of control. He plays very hard and gives maximum effort when he steps onto the court.

Jackson is an outstanding playmaker at the point guard position. He understands his role and knows how to get the ball to his teammates who can make the scoring play. He is "Mr. Assist". Size may be an issue with this kid, at 5'9'', but he puts so much pressure on opponents on both ends of the floor you just know that this kid is destined to play wherever he chooses. Lewis can break down opponents and get into the lane at will. At 5'9'' he has good lift and elevation, and can dunk it when he attacks the rim. Although Jackson can score and shoot the ball that is not his forte. Running a team, being the consummate playmaker is what this kid is all about. Lewis also puts incredible pressure on opposing point guards. He knows how to guard and makes life miserable for his opponents, creating turnovers, steals and general havoc with his play.

I agree.. That's how it is with all the Purdue players... however a 7 footer wouldn't hurt them any.

If he plays as good D as the article indicates, Kramer might be out of a starting job next year. Even if he isn't as good on D as Kramer, I still wouldn't mind seeing him start, we need a true 1 guard anyway.

A talented point guard setting up open looks for Moore Grant and Hummel? Count me in. Sure hope we get a post game going next year. If we do...CHAMPS!!.

If you guys want to check this guy out.......Do a "Lew Jack City" search on YouTube.

I was a little tentative when thinking about getting a guy so small.........until I saw the videos of this kid.......He might be the most underrated Purdue recruit of all time.

This guy looks like Iverson.  He has a vertical leap that warrants alley oop jams.  His passing creativity looks like Jason Kidd/Jason Williams.

The guy can shoot to boot.

If you haven't checked out his videos yet, do it........you'll be on the bandwagon.  I say Jackson is a starter, and a major player for Big 10 freshman of the year.

PS - I don't know what's going on with Jamil Wilson for class of '09, but thanks to Scott Martin for freeing up playing time for him.  Looks like we're a player for Ben Hansbrough as well........and if being on a team with a Final Four shot is what he wants, then we are his only option given the schools that he's looking at.

If Johnson puts on the weight we need him to.......there might be multiple Final Four runs in this team, with a legit shot at bringing home the ultimate goal.

BTFU

Sounds like Crump but potentially better defense and more assists.  So basically...the perfect point guard.  I'll take it.

How about ........Like crump, except for he will actually kick the ball out after penetrating and not throw up some garbage shot.

Sorry to the Crump lovers.  But I thought he was terrible, and was glad to see him graduate.
