I don't think Alou will be much of a threat to blast it out of the park, but he will be solid in the bottom part of the order.
Why not? last year he hit 13 dingers in 81 games. I know this isn't going to win him Home run derby status, but thats solid power production.
I like Alou after Delgado just to break up the Delgado, church Schneider lefty combo.
I also really don;t like Church batting 2nd. He is a power hitter and should be in the 5 or 6 hole. While he did well there against the Nats, I just don't see it being a quality long term move.
I think in games Pagan plays you put him number 2, as he is a good avg hitting and will sets the table well. And you have 5 Alou, 6 Delgado, 7 Castillo, and 8 Schneider.
Games church plays, I think you have no choice but to move Castillo back up to the 2 spot (where I am convinced his bat will come around once his knees start to adapt to post surgery, he is afterall a career 300 hitter). you have Delgado 5, Alou 6, Church 7, and Schneider 8. (with the potential of moving Delgado to the 7 spot if he bat continues to go south moving Church up to 5).
