Good Point newbie, I once read a statement from Drew Brees "We don't change our offense from team to team, It's their job to stop us." Obviously Drew carries Sean Payton's philosophy on the field. I believe that confidence went to arrogance in the NFC championship game. Last Year was a gut check for every member of the Saints and they showed some progression on the learning curve but this year will be the test.

I thought at first sight of this post NOS7432,  that you said WATERING HOLE, so i was all up for that, My X-FACTOR for the Saints this year is TURNOVERS, can we keep them to a minimum on the offensive side of the ball and produce more on the defense side of the ball. I know everyone on this board is tired of us playing pretty solid defensively on first and second down, only to give up a third and long to keep an opponents drive alive.

Alright, I think I will go a less traveled route on this one. Although I think Vilma is a very solid choice, I think in terms of the phrase X factor, you looking for someone or something out of the ordinary. Vilma we all know is great, and that's what we are going to expect, even with his injury recovery. So I think the biggest X factor, as well as the most immediat impact player will be Bobby McCray.

For some reason memories of Will Smith, Darren Howard and Charles Grant just come back to mind. Darren Howard was a beast in that kind of rotation and then when they switched up on him, Grant would go on a tear and then smith. I think McCray is going to help our pass rush bring the rukus this season. I could be wrong. I have been before, but I just got a feeling. You know, like the feeling I had about J. Vilma !!!!!!!!!

My x-factor is going to be C Grant/W Smith....  I think it's obvious why.  When there healthy, Smith and Grant are the best tandem in the NFL.

What's up with that Matt Lehr cat???  I'm not saying his guilty or whatever but don't come to this squad with that extra baggage.  That's not how we roll!!!!

After much debate (within myself), I have to give my x-factor award to Robert Meachum. No one out of the organization has seen what the kid can do once inserted into the Saints lineup. Most know he was strong and fast in college, but what does he bring to our complicated offensive schemes? My hope is that he becomes a solid #2, giving us more firepower on O. But as of right now, that could go either way.

Yeah, I think X factor kinda means it can go either way with something.

Now Barring injuries we know what guys like Drew Brees, Scott Fujita, Marques Colston, Jamaal Brown, David Patten, and Hollis Thomas will bring.  Last year my X factor was Marques Colston and how can he adjust to a #1 role, which he responded with one of the best seasons as a Saint reciever if not THE best.

Plenty X factor cases: astericks IMO how it will turn out - 1 star worst; 5 stars best

The Running back Situation- can someone emerge and become a threat? ***

Can Jonathan Goodwin develop chemistry with Brees quick enough? ***

Will Grant, Smith, and McCray tri team like so many lines do with a 3 man rot.? ****

Can the secondary gel quickly enough and will they be good enough?  **

Dan Morgan being a force and playing a full season *

How about J. Vilma? ****

And mine

Can Robert Meachem overcome weight, conditioning, and injury issues to become what he was drafted to be and is needed to be: the #2 reciever?  **
