Last year there was a thread on the MLB General board with the same subject. Since Baseball is about the only thing going on during racing season I thought I'd try it here.

You don't have to be a diehard fan to post. It helps to know a little or at least follow a team but if you don't that's ok as well. It worked over there and was one of the few threads where people were civil (like here) and there was very little drama.

If this works out great. If it doesn't no big deal.

I will start out by saying I have coached from Little league all the way up to American Legion, so I've had kids from 8 to 18 and love to follow the game. I am a diehard Cubs fan but like the Brewers as well (unless they're playing the Cubs). Living less than an hour away from Milwaukee I attend a few Brewer games a year, especially when they play the Cubs (which is the toughest ticket to get).

I just enjoy the game, and yes it can be very boring to watch especially on TV if you're not into it, but that's why this thread is called "For the Casual Baseball Fan"

Last night the Cubs beat the Pirates in 15 and the Reds stomped the Brewers. That's all I have for results right now but will post others later.

I will usually post more about the NL Central since that's the division I have the most interest in. Feel free to post what you like but please keep it civil, which I know the regulars here will. Thanks...bluejay

Spartacus - Are you more of an American League fan since you follow the Tigers?

It use to be real easy for me when the Brewers were in the AL. Now I have all this confilct (LOL)...bluejay

Life long Red Sox fan myself. They are sucking so far this year being last in the division. The lost last nioght to the tigers showed they are not were they have been the last 4-5 years and need to get on the same page quick. I know being on 3 different continents last month hurt but they played at home last night and there was no excuse for the way they played.

Frady - I haven't been keeping up real close yet but weren't the Tigers winless? Sorry I didn't mean to throw salt in the wounds. That was/is a surprise (Tigers 0-7) as well as the Red Sox slow start.

The Brewer fans around here are all over me right now. I just asked them what their magic number was and that kind of shut them up...bluejay

Thanks for the opportunity, bluejay.  I'll try to come up with some pertinent information for your thread.  Like....

The St. Louis Cardinals are 7 - 2 in first place in the NL Central.  A half game up on the Brewers and 1 1/2 ahead of the Cubs.  Their majic number is 153.

Is that the kind of stuff you wanted?

Seriously, it is fun watching Fukudome.  The pitchers will start to figure him out but right now he is giving the fits.

I am a Reds fan myself. Although it is kind of hard to follow them up here in NY.

I also like the Yankees since I live in NY.

Reds: 4 Brewers: 1 Top 9th

Hawks - Yea stuff like that and how your team or teams are doing. I figured you would chime in sooner or later. I know it's early but do the Cardinals have enough pitching & depth for th
