not to be an a hole here but KU played their hearts out and so did Memphis.  To say Memphis lost it takes away from the other 38 minutes of solid gameplay by both teams...so I don't think Memphis lost it....Kansas took it

Ummm............yeah Kansas did win...did you see the score..Kansas had the higher number.  I agree with the poster above and think that is insulting to Memphis and Kansas.  Both teams played an awesome game and to say Kansas lost it really discredits the Memphis Tigers hard play.  I thought it was an excellent game.  I will say the Free Throws became a major factor in the few seconds before the OT.

That was the biggest collapse in a national championship ever. Memphis will always be known as a greater laughing stock than even the Ohio State Suckeyes.  What an embarassment.

I am a Pitt fan and recall a game for which Calipari was an assistant here in the NCAA Tournament.  We played Vanderbilt and were up by 3 with seconds remaining.   Calipari told the coach (Ben Howland) to foul someone to avoid allowing a 3 (only two foul shots instead) to tie the game.  That message did not get to the players, Vandy made a three ans won in overtime.  If they would have fouled Vandy, they would have had only two shots and could not tie without intnetionally missing the second and hoping for a tip in or something.

This year, Deja Vu.  Didn't Calipari learn for this?  Sorrty, but I wanted to see him pull this off as it should have been in the bag with his prior experience in this situation.

You guys deserved that game, sorry that a coaching slipped on the opportunity.

Gator00...C'mon man, Memphis outplayed Kansas the entire second half and just couldn't close.  That, coupled with some great timely shots from Kansas was the difference.  On another note, with no offense to you, your back to back champion Gators of the past 2 years were not as good as either of these 2 teams, and maybe not even good enough to make this final 4.

Its called being out coached. All we heard all season was how Memphis needs to work on their free-throws.Well, it looks like everyone got the memo but John.Just one thats all they needed was one.Alot of people are like, "thats not basketball, they started fouling with 2 minute left." Your right, its not basketball. Its called coaching and scouting your team. And everyone knew all season that the Tigers one weakness is free throws. It does sucks. because the Tigers by far were the better team on the court.

And one question, why no foul on the impound.Just foul someone, anyone.Ball didn't even have to be in.Sh@# tackle someone.

Anyways, don't be suprised if John is the next coach at OSU.Kansas won't give them a chance to offer Self anything. And Billy G makes what they will offer, even if its not a "official" contract.

One more thing.Like I tell the boys I coach. If you blame the refs, you were never in the game.

It's not called being outcoached first of all...how many times does someone need to say they didn't work on their free-throws...just freakin watch practice...they work on them all the time...how about a different look at it...memphis plays with such great intensity throughout the entire game that when you tell them to stop and shoot the ball from this line without running and spinning -dribble drivin' whatever...it can be hard...

think back before the free-throws were missed...cal tells the guys that if we make one...we foul...if we make two we form a wall...its evident that rose fouled the kid didn't want to be the "chris webber" of the tourney by getting called for an intentional foul....which ed hightower would have been more than happy to call because he's horrible...you tell yours whatever you want but it is sad to say that refs influence games more than people give them credit for...i played college football..one flag by a ref on a crazy offensive pass interference for example can kill a drive....so to say to blame if you blame the refs you were never in the game is complete trash...

memphis lost the game because they got tense and didnt handle the pressure...but whats the first thing to go when your tired...your mind...you start making mental mistakes and eventually you give the game away...rose played 45 mins and cdr played 42 mins..what more do you expect...if you want to point fingers you can and so i will...losing andre for the final four really hurt the tigers in the championship...if he's there memphis wins by 12 at least

Gator00:

Actually we will be known as 1 of  the 4 only #1 seeds to ever make the final 4. You can say what you want because Florida is known for winning the championship 2 straight years to going to the NIT and LOSING!!

memphis got there moment in the spot light and choked, bottom line.  Your best players, could not do what kids in high school do everyweek, make free throws.  9 points with two minutes to go, if i were an alum who is paying these kids to play basketball i would run my coach out of town
