Not sure if you guys knew this but I saw this pop up on the ESPN ticker and then found it at www.mstateathletics.com .

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State University head men’s basketball coach Rick Stansbury announced Monday that Bulldog sophomore guard Ben Hansbrough has decided to transfer following his spring semester at MSU.

“Ben is a good kid and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” Stansbury said.

A 6-foot-3, 205-pound guard from Poplar Bluff Mo., Hansbrough was MState’s fourth-leading scorer this past season at 10.5 points per contest.  Having started 28 games for Stansbury’s 23-11 NCAA Tournament squad in 2007-08, Hansbrough tied for the team lead with 62 made three-point field goals in shooting 36 percent from beyond the three-point arc.  Along with leading the SEC West champion Bulldogs in free throw percentage (.789) this past year, Hansbrough ranked as the club’s third-leading playmaker with 77 assists (2.6 apg) while also averaging 3.8 rebounds an outing.

Maybe this will work, sorry for the above mess.

Damn, I don't know what is up with our program that we continue to lose players/starters each year.  We keep this this up and we will always have freshmen and sophmores at the starting spots.

Has he said "where" he will transfer?  Personally, I've only seen him play once or twice on TV, any MSU fan have any takes on his talent level (good or bad?)

From what I here, Ben says if Gordon stays...Then he goes. It sounds like Gordon just does what he wants. He doesn't listen to Coach Stan and I'm at least half of it is Stans fault. This is the second year for us to lose a good player. Gordon is good, but it is a team game and from watching this year and last it just seems like he plays for himself. I would rather have Ben back than Gordon. Am I the only one who thinks that would be better for the TEAM?

First the Delk twins, now Hansborough. I'd rather have Ben for more than one year than Jamont for only one more year, let Phil Turner bulk up, get in there and get some experience either way.

Just read on a rivals message board that Turner is going to leave too.  I'm not sure how true that is, but something to look for.  I don't know what to say if that ends up being true.

I heard Turner rumors Tue. morning on campus, but wasn't sure how valid they were. We're losing guards faster than we can blink these past two offseasons, something's got to be going on.

i think Bellringer has his finger on the pulse. Gordon was/is not a team player. I don't know how many times I saw him throw the ball away ( which was A LOT ) and then throw his arms up as to suggest it was someone else's fault. I was looking forward to him leaving ( don't get me wrong, he's incredibly talented and did a lot for State but was responsible for so many turnovers, some of which never made it on the stat line but were attribuable to his remedial basketball IQ ) and Turner, Hansborough and Stewart being a formidable guard trio for State. Now it looks like we are in trouble, especially now that the two face Hopson kid has decommited and enrolled at Tennessee.
