Taylor King, one of UCLA's Top Recruits last year out of Mater Dei, ended up changing his commitment to Duke and playing his freshmen year there. Turns out Taylor King was not happy with his playing time and knows Duke is stacked at his position for a while. He left Duke and is Deciding between UCLA, Gonzaga, and USC for next year. It is very possible he ends up at UCLA which would be another huge recruit for 09'! He is automatic from 3 point range and is an excellent rebounder standing 6'6. I hope we land him....GO BRUINS!!!!

Even if Coach Howland decided to accept his transfer, he won't be available until 2009-2010 season due to mandatory NCAA's one year sitting out rule. He verbally committed to UCLA and he didn't bother to call Coach Howland when he decided to go to Duke. What's more? We didn't even try to change his mind about his decommitment. So more likely he won't end up at UCLA. Besides, for his position we're recruiting Ari Stewart of Marietta, GA; Milton Jennings of Summervill, SC; Brendan Lane of Rocklin, CA; and Stephan Van Treese of Indinanapolis, IN and Nolan Dennis of Richland Hills, TX. Taylor King most likely end up at Gonzaga.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Taylor King dissed the best west coast program and now is angry at the best east coast program?   This guy isn't that good to begin with so UCLA is not the place for him now.  He plays little defense (Howland would hate that) and can't do anything but shoot from range.  Let him go to Gonzaga where he will fall into obscurity after starting for 2 years.

UCLA doesn't need more perimeter recruits. UCLA needs a true C because Love is most likely gone. Wtih out K Love and Mata (grad) the bruins have no true center. They will have Aboya who is a forward that can fill in at C but to be full time that is a tough tough physical toll. Aboya doesn't mind being physical he is a dirty work kind of guy but how will he hold up going up against bigger guys for 30+ games. UCLA is getting a top PF and a bunch of guards in this recruiting class. If

King committed to Villanova over the weekend.  I think he ultimately knew he couldn't play the kind of defense Ben Howland would expect him to play.

They say Howland never liked or wanted him, he is weak and plays no D.
