Seven years later, BOTH ARE STILL IN NBA. That's "whatever happened" to them.
10 and 15 minutes per game in Utah and Memphis. Jarron just started last game, and Jason scored 10 points last game.
Neither Collins is playing for league minimum either, so that means they are being paid pretty well for their choice. For a seventh year player, minimum is about $1M, and each are making more than that. Over the 7 years in the NBA, they've made millions upon millions of dollars, which is the reason to leave early...
You can't teach 7 feet.

I just want to know where to address my "Welcome to the NBADL" Card to Robin when he signs with an agent. His brother should make a squad and see some decent time in the next few years. Robin on the other hand should stay another year, take the spotlight over from his brother and then go. Id be tired on living i my brothers shadow and want to stay another year and develop. Lets see, leave and be a second round pick this year, then a 90% chance you're going to the DL and make nothing compared to your brother or stay a year, make a name for yourself and possibly be a lottery pick and make a TON more $$ than you would this year. Leave this year and you'll be another of the endless 7 fters that played college ball that everyone asked, "Hey, whatever happened to......"

Brook is going to be a top 5 pick, and Robin is projected to go to about 20th. The Cavs or Golden State seem to be a popular spot for him. Perfect fits. He could either replace Varajao or be the athletic defensive big man off the bench for the Warriors. Worst case scenario he falls to the second round and gets paired with his brother. Either way their stock will not be higher than this year.

It's good news for the rest of the Pac-10, which won't have to figure out how to match up against two 7-footers next season. Expect to see Kevin Love of UCLA as the next big man entering the draft early.

I admit that Brook will probably be a starter. That is something that I have thought for a while.
However, I did not admit that Robin will be a starter. I said his defense is good, not great. The reason Noah starts is becasuse of his energy. Robin Lopez does not have this energy. And have you ever seen Noah shoot? He's terrible. So I was calling Robin a terrible offensive player.

I can see Brook going to the draft and I could see him going in the late first round. He was a third-team All American. That means there are at least 10 players better than him. Brook can score but needs to bulk up for the NBA.
I think Brook will be OK at the next level but Robin should definitely stay in school. He averaged 10 points and 5 boards a game. Not NBA numbers. He didn't carry his team to the Final Four and didn't dominate other teams.
Stanford could be a top team next year if both stay but even if Brook comes back for one more they are a formidable team. His stock could only go up if he decided to go to his junior year.
I really think they are going to the NBA for their mom. I think they want the money to help her out, which is noble but I think she is using them for a big payday. I know big men in the NBA are always needed and can make good money as backups.
Thats all I see these two guys as -- highly paid backups.

The NBA has created an environment for these young college kids, that leave school eqarly and go for the $$!!!! What happened to the last sets of twins that left Stanford...The Collins Twins? Where are the now? Stay in school and enjoy the remaining 2 years of your scholarship $$$ The Collins Twins are both still playing in the NBA because of being big men which are hard to find... and they are still making quite a bit of money still.

I don't see this working out for either of them. They should stay at least another year.

brook lopez will be a top 10 pick if not top 5 and make a lot of money playing for a bad team. robin will be drafted late
first round and will make less money but play for a good team. sounds like a pretty good deal for both.

Okay, this is silly, WHY STAY IN SCHOOL??
College is training for the workplace, and for life. These guys already have their 'life' figured out...how is being at Stanford better "Basketball" education then being on an NBA roster, learning from the pros, being a BASKETBALL player 24/7...neither of them are thinking about their post-NBA accounting careers...> BE REAL!!!
Yes, for some people staying in school is the right answer...we are talking about athletes being groomed for the NBA for years here people...not the next teacher in your third grader's art class!! Staying is school is simply the desperate cry of Stanford Homers that want to see their team beat up the Pac-10 for a year or two....SORRY!!
If Robin (Brook is a no-brainer) stays in school another year, he could get hurt, overshadowed, exposed, whatever....everything to lose, nothing to gain.....look at Matt Leinert? What did staying another year do for him??
Let these boys live their easy, priviledged lives!!
