Just remember, height is hard to teach!  Brook is third team All American this year and he's still learnining as a super Soph.  He can shoot, rebound and block.  And as far as rebounding, defending and in particular blocking Robin is even better!!  Dennis Rodman won three rings in Chicago as a starter without taking more than three shots per game!  Many NBA players are there to block, defend and rebound!  Smart move Brooks brothers - they'll both be drafted and stick in the NBA - barring injuries they be well known defenders in a few years!

Uh.... are you retarded? Brooke Lopez is a lottery pick this year... hate to tell you. I'd guarantee he's top 10, many are looking at him to be a top 5 pick.  You can't coach size like him.  He just needs to work on his defense a bit.  Robin is being looked at as a sleeper 2nd round pick , and I think he could be a great backup and defensive beast in the NBA. Do your research.

What they should have done is that Brooke is good enought to go so he make the right choice, but Robin should have stayed in school to develop in collage before going to the pros. They got into Stanford , so they are obviously smart, so they won't blow their money early. Even if they did need a job, they can just mention that they went to Stanford and they will get the job. They don't need to stay in school.

Not in the top 20?

7 footers they will be fine , you didnt watch to much pac ten BB . I would like them to see student athletes stay and develop longer but get paid and they will be fine . they are athletic 7 footers and sometimes getting in early doesnt hurt you

Lardo ,

you definetly didnt go to stanford . is it Collage or is it College. They wont get paid cause they just mention they went to stanford. You think since they went to Stanford  they wont blow there money early? Good thing he didnt go to a community college ... your a dumass. I believe decent 7 footers will be just fine in the NBA. College doesnt make you!

It's a darn shame! And a big loss for collage b-ball! I With all the Wildcats that have been leaving early since 95, I feel the Cardinal's pain! To bad O'Neil couldn't be drated, But I think they've learned their lesson!

This is in no way a bad move by either Lopez brother regardless of where they're projected in the draft. I don't follow the Pac10 or Stanford as closely as some east coast teams, but from the articles I've read about these guys I think they'll be okay - whether in the NBA or in other endeavors. They are probably the only guys I've heard about in college basketball who have listed interests other than basketball regarding potential professions. Granted, that could be the fault or insight of the reporters/articles themselves. Still, they can always go back to Stanford and get that piece of paper, which undeniably is held in high regard in the workforce. The move is not bad for college basketball, just for Stanford's college basketball team.

although they both get drafted the lopez twins would have been better suited for another year of development especially robin , they both will get drafted in the first round off of potential

although as a cardinal fan i would have liked them to stay i understrand the move (but i will have to change my avatar.)

However if look at the All American Team. He is the best center who is likeley entering the draft which means he will be a top 10 pick for sure and maybe top five. The knicks would really want him to build the team around him a la PAtrick Ewing.

Robin is a All Pac 10 defensive player who is seven feet tall and had some his best games in the Tournament when the Cardinal needed him most. I see him as being a taller and better ofensively Anderson Verajo. He might be picked in the top twenty for sure first round. A team like San Antonio would want him for his D and hustle.

So in conclusion good luck Brookman and Robin in the NBA. I wish you guys where coming back but you have moved the program ahead greatly in the recruting process and you got us to the Sweet Sixteen. Once again good luck and good bye.

Wow you yourself just admitted that they both could be starters in the NBA. Last time I checked Joakim Noah is a starter and you yourself say Robin's skills are the same as Noah's but his defense is better. They will probally be first rounders just because they are 7 footers with talent... look at the last Stanford Twins too go pro the Jarrod Twins they are both still playing with good contracts and aren't as talented as the Lopez twins.

Brook Lopez is a quality 7-footer who I think made a pretty good decision. He is a great post-player.

However, I think Robin is making a huge mistake. He is a good defender, but unfortunately he has Joakim Noah-like offensive skills. If Robin would of stayed for his junior year, he could of established himself as a go-to-guy at Stanford. Have fun in the D-League Robin.

Man what ARE they dropping into the tap water these days??

Brooke is top 10...no brainer for him to come out...and I think Robin has the same idea...why?  WHo knows WHAT could happen next year, he could get his chance as 'the man' and fall on his face.  His draft stock could dissappear altogether!!  This way he has a little hype going in, someone will give him a guarenteed contract at least, and he can full time work on his game and hopefully develop it.  College is good and all, but the kid can ball and the window is open now, take it!!  Next year it may not be there, especially without big brother's coat tails to shine behind...

My take....take the money and run...Stanford doesn't look to have a strong team next year anyway, if they flop, guess who's fault it is???  That's right....mr. "I stayed behind to work on my game" Lopez...last year's second rounder, this year Europe doesn't even want a sniff....

Brook : Late first to early second.

Robin : Late second to undrafted

Dude, April fools doesn't start until April 1st. You posted this on March 31.

Oh well, you're still a fool. Brook Lopez will go in the lottery. Robin will probably go first round.

The NBA has created an environment for these young college kids, that leave school eqarly and go for the $$!!!!  What happened to the last sets of twins that left Stanford...The Collins Twins?  Where are the now?  Stay in school and enjoy the remaining 2 years of your scholarship $$$
