I just wanted to take a minute to put some praise where it was needed.  Now that the Tigers have gotten over the Elite 8 jinx, and Derrick Rose was named MVP of the South Regional.  Don't get me wrong, D Rose is the man.  Hands down the quickest player in college basketball.  Sees the floor better than any point guard to come through Memphis in my lifetime.  Probably a good pick for freshman of the year, even with the inconsistencies (is that spelled right) that he showed early in the year.  What I want to talk about is my man Chris Douglas-Roberts.  CDR shows up every game and just does what he does.  Sometimes, we as fans get caught up in the flash that is D Rose, and don't even realize that CDR has tossed in 26 to 30 points.  I have never seen a player more calm on the floor when the game is on the line than CDR.  It's like he was bred for those moments.  Alot of times he reminds me of Jimmy Chitwood (you know, the all-star in the movie Hoosiers).  It's like Cal calls a time out to draw up the last second game winner, and CDR is there to tell him "I'll make it".  D Rose is a play maker and a human highlight reel.  CDR is the glue that holds that team together.  I want so bad for the Tigers to win a Championship for that kid, for all that he has done for the program.  Your thoughts?

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!  2 MORE.

I know what you mean. He, Antonio Anderson, and Andre Allen has been three who just do their things.

I was really impressed with how we carried ourselves after the game on Sunday. We celebrated and enjoyed it, but you could tell this wasn't THE celebration. The Tigers realize that there is still work to be done, and after two more wins, then they can let loose!

Good points Trublu, but we often forget about the other glue guy Antonio Anderson. CDR and DRose are beasts, they can score and control a game like no other tandem in Memphis' history( at least since Ive been around). Antonio just passes, hit big 3pters, get steals, blocks, floor burns, take charges, etc...He is my team MVP. What would have happen if he didn't frustate and dominate Neitzel and Abrams, or that last shot by Gordon. He's been locking scorers down his entire career. I mean if Abrams or Neitzel had gotten loose what would the score have been. It would have definetly been closer. I remember hearing Cal say that High stats should not include points but instead charges taken, assists, floorburns and all other hustle stats. This is how this team got over that hump and Antonio exemplifies that point. So let's give some love to all the TIGERS and wish them good health in the FINAL 4.

P.S. that's the only way we don't win it all, if we are not healthy.

I listened so much and read too much prior to the last 2 games... What I saw was basically the Tigers living up to their potential... beating a better than average Michigan State and a great Texas team the way we did was so so well great.  CDR is the man... so calm, cool..
I currently live in Tar Heel land (Wilmington, NC) and all along the last few weeks my friends that are Tar Heels fans have said the one team they fear is Memphis and this really has increased after the Tigers last 2 games. UCLA is our history... Walton the horrific game 2 years ago. Howland and staff our trying to figure out a way to stop this freight train and I do believe that on April 7th it'll be NC vs Memphis and baby for Coach Cal, all the past and present players...it's our time...

Trust me when I say that I have definately not overlooked 'Tone.  In my book, he is definately defensive player of the year.  He just smothers opponents.  Also, I haven't forgotten that his nickname is San Antonio Anderson.  What Tiger fan could forget what he did for us in the Sweet Sixteen last year?  I agree with you, that the only way we don't win is if we aren't healthy.  Looking back at my original thread, I agree with you.  No ONE player has gotten us where we are this year.  I can't begin to count the different leading scorers that we have had throughout the season.  These are great days to be a TIGER.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!  2 MORE!

Man, all those guys are awesome to watch...

Goodluck in the final 4, I know I have been rooting for you all all year...

Bring back the hardware for C-USA and maybe then we should see a little more respect like the conference used to get.

The last time that I checked, it take a team to win a championship. The tigers are a team just like my New England Patriots. You never here Brady say that he did this or that on his on. He always say that it was a team effort win or lose. The tigers are playing as a team, winning as a team and with be champs as a team. The only thing that will get in the tigers way is the tigers. GO TIGERS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys...I love the talk hear.

I have been living in La for 5 years now and have been watching my Tigers from afar.
When I went home for XMAS this year, my mom surprised my wife and I, with Memphis/Arizona tickets. I could not have been happier to see my university play the way they did. It just so happened to be my wife's first Bball game.

I feel like I am the only Memphis fan out here on the west coast among a sea of Baby Blue & Gold. Trust me, if you look hard, you can see the Dark Blue Dot.

The last 2 butt whoopin's are exaclty what we needed to show the country that Memphis is the team to beat. And mind you, they are.

UCLA - beware. If you are thinking the same way as Texas & MSU were, you are in for some serious trouble.

Media...keep feeding the upset words to fuel our fire even more.

PS. Every time Vitale has chosen the other team to win against Memphis, we've won.
And he just so happened to choose UCLA this time. Thanks Vitale!!!!

GO TIGERS GO - Takin' it home this year!!

Sure you guys MIGHT beat UCLA, but John Calipari will get caught by the NCAA for his violations in the THUGS that he has recruited. Just wait. Check his UMASS record. Kelvin Sampson doesn't have $hit on Calipari. Not trying to be the spoiler, but justice has to be done. No one will remember this post when the $hit hits the fan for Memphis. Good Luck
