Agreed - very similar to his dad. Unlikely to ever be a huge star, but he'll have a solid career. Teams are always looking for a sharpshooter.

If you watch the kid play, he finds his own shot.  He uses screen and just plain finds open spots.  That is the key to being successful at the next level for a shooting guard.  He may end up playing point...  but I think he could have a nice future, especially if he grows an inch or two and puts a little weight on. He is only 19.

right on 80, he better enjoy the next 2 years of college ball. He doesnt have the size or build to be an effective pro shooting guard and his most ideal position would have to be at point but he doesnt have the ballhandling or decision making necessary for the professsional level. I just dont see any sort of NBA potential but then again i dont think anyone would have imagined him ever being this much of a giant killer either....

I don't know his true pro potential but after what I saw him do after not being recruited by many people who are regretting it now I would have a hard time betting against him making it as a pro.

I could see him being a Reggie Miller type player on the offensive end.

Watching him play today he definately reminded me of reggie miller. A little bit smaller, with a better drive though. The way he moves without the ball through screens and around people to get open screams reggie miller.

I can't agree; How many people were singing the praises of the kid from Marquette before he blew up in the tourney? One championship ring later, everyone knows the name and skill of Dwyane Wade. Not comparing the skill, simply the circumstances. This kid earned a name for himself by carrying his team as far as he could against better programs. I hope he gets a degree before he tests the pro waters. I've never played or coached pro basketball, so I have no credibility in assuming he can or can't make it. It's amazing what a person can accomplish when he has a little heart to drive him. His basketball future remains to be seen. All the best to him, I say.

Absolutely agree on the Reggie statement.. I watched Reg growing up here in Indiana and Curry def reminds me of him, especially the way he creates his own shot, is VERY patient (which is great for young kids to watch and emulate), reads defenses and plays within the team's offense.

You know, Curry could really be a starter in the league.  If you pair him with a big point guard in the NBA, he could guard a point and play the 2 spot.  Or even if you played him with a superstar with a Lebron or a Kobe who controls the ball and is big.  Curry can get his own shot, something like a Steve Kerr never could and he can shoot off the dribble or screens.  The kid definately has the chance to be a starter in the league.  I don't really foresee a hall of famer, but he could leave a mark on the league, a lot of shooters can.

With that quick release he'll last a long time in the NBA. Whether he becomes a long-term starter depends on where he ends up. He needs screens to get open. He can take his man occasionally off the dribble, but he has to set it up.

To 80, it's not like he had one good game. He had four straight and all four loaded up their defenses to stop him. That's NBA talent.

I think he needs to rely a little bit more on his drive game. As we saw today he can shoot the ball. But he is streaky. And when his shot isnt on he tends to force the 3. And as we saw today he went 3-14 i think it was from 3FG.

He is an excellent dribble drive guy. He can get to the rim at will as we saw in the Georgetown game. He should have relied a little more on that then his jump shot today. Especially on that last drive. He seemed content with throwing up a 3 pointer on that last play. When they were only down 2. He could have dribbled in and taken a higher % shot or kicked it out for an open 3. They were only down 2.

His best attribute to me is how clutch he is most of the time. He made a mistake at the end of the game yes, but all season and all tournament long he has done nothing but hit the big shot when needed. And come out and score at will when needed. As we saw in the 2nd half of the GU game. That earns him big points when it comes to draft stock. NBA teams can never have enough clutch players.

If he can work on his knowledge and court savy a little more next season, and develop an even better dribble drive he will be a solid pro.

He shows me flashes of Monta Ellis except he has a much better outside jump shot. He has the potential he just needs to put it all together. And another year at Davidson should do just that.

what? they didn't win they lost to kansas and everyone knew about Wade's skill going into college, the only reason he didn't play at a major school is because of serious academic problems in high school, the deal with curry is they didn't think he was talented enough.

While I agree that Curry is a great shooter and a fine player. I can't agree that he will play 8-10 yrs in the NBA and I don't agree that he 'creates his own shot' well.

He is a jump shooter who relies on other people getting him open by setting picks just like Reggie Miller. Curry is a weak ball handler and at 170 pounds he can't post anyone up and he can't get to the hole consistently. He is a very good college player who will struggle in the NBA to get open. Reggie Miller, Kyle Korver and Jason Kapono all are all 6'5 or bigger, Curry is barely 6-2, I think.

Don't get me wrong guys...I love the way the kid plays and he is a very good college player. I just can't agree that he will be a good pro or play for a long time in the NBA..

Only time will tell......
