I would strongly agree that it is time for Dicky V, Clark Kellogg and the rest of the 'so called" experts to choke down a little crow. Ever since the tournament has started, except for the Texas Arlington game, these guys have not given Memphis the respect that they deserve. So, now The Tigers are showing that they aren't asking for respect. They are demanding it! Against Michigan State, a game they were suppose to lose, Anderson completely shut down star Drew Neitzel, only allowing him six points. Neitzel's points came only after the game was completely out of hand. "CDR" played his usual "unstoppable" game. Then, there was Derrick Rose, who scored 27 points. He is not only the best freshman in the game this year, but by for the best point guard too. Memphis hit 24 of 30 free throws for (75%) Guess they can shoot free throws, Kellogg.
Even after dismantling Michigan State, they still had the nerve to pick Texas over Memphis. So, what did The Tigers have to do today? The same thing that they have done all year long. Play their style of basketball. A style that only "1" team (Tennesee) was able to figure out this year and they only beat them by "4" points. Oh, and by the way, where is Tennessee now? Today, The Tigers totally frustrated Augustin and Abrams. Augustin and Abrams could never really get their game started, because they could not over come The Tigers quickness and aggressive style of defense. As for their free throw woes, they shot 89%!
So again, Dicky V., Clark Kellogg and the rest of your "merry band" of "so called" experts, what do The Tigers have to do to gain your respect? You know, it really doesn't matter at this point. But, before the tournament ends, you guys need to go out and buy yourselves some "Tiger Blue and White!" At the end of the tournament, you guys will need some.
