1. The Georgetown Win was no fluke. Davidson didn't just get lucky against a sloppy Hoya team. They played Wisconsin strong, and ran away in the second half. They punched their legitimacy card tonight, and showed they were the real deal. This is no fluke, flash-in-the-pan team. Bill Self (or Jay Wright) better be paying attention.

2. Defense doesn't work. Georgetown and Wisconsin were two of the top 5 defenses in the NCAA this year, by almost any measure. Davidson, well, Stephen Curry, destroyed both teams.  Defense doesn't appear to work against these guys. If you are going to beat Davidson, you're going to have to score early, often, and maybe a bit in between.  Kansas can do this, but will they.  Can Villanova pull it off in the late game? Either way, it's going to be a heck of a showdown on Sunday.

Yeah, Davidson is definitely the real deal. Curry is a whale of a player right now; he's gotten like 3 games now with at least 30+ points. Amazing.
I predict it'll be KU-Davidson; the winner of that? I can't really say. I'm gonna take a safe bet and say KU, just b/c of what they've done this season and all. But, with this win tonight, I'm not going to be at all surprised if Davidson wins after all. I'll say one thing though; that would blow out my bracket for sure ;)

WOW What a stroke Curry has.  That is as pure of a shooter as I've seen in a long time.   As a bonus, he has a good supporting cast as well.  I can't believe one of the "big" schools didn't snag him.

Of course defense works.

Didnt you see what Davidson's D did to the Badgers?

Well put. Let me rephrase. Defense against Stephen Curry and Davidson does not appear to work. Thanks for the clarification.

1. I believe the same as you..Davison is a high quality team that will have a ligitimate shot agiants Kansas.. and if for some reason Villinova..a great shot..

2. Defense hasnt worked, however it should catch up on Curry. How much longer can Curry put up these kind of numbers and lead his team.  If Curry stumbles, can the rest of the team keep up and pace Kansas?  I think not.

Curry & Davidson's  defense kiled them. It'll have to take a guy like Kobe Bryant & Tracy Magrady to stop curry. Now Davidson has to take down either Kansas or Nova to get in the final four. Which won't be easy against a team like Kansas.

I think if you can shut Curry down, and make someone else beat you, they might have a chance against Davidson. I don't see that happening but it's a shot.

We learned that Stephen Curry is a great shooter... Defense does not look like it will stop him... But what are they going to do when they play a team that has a great offense? A team of UNCs calliber...

I wonder what the coaches (especially Virginia Tech) who overlooked Curry are thinking now. His little brother is just as good and is going to Liberty University!! You figure that since his father (Dell Curry) holds the record of most points and VT and that his mother played volleball there as well that they would have given Curry a scholarship. Where is the loyalty at VT?

I am going out on a limb here:  Stephen Curry is BETTER than sliced bread!  If I was going to pick a team to route ours, it would be Davidson.  Good Luck, and I would love to see a KU- Davidson matchup.

What a year and a half this has been.   We had an upstart smaller division school (Appalachian State) take out a perennial power (Michigan) on Michigans home turf no less before going on to win a 3rd straight championship.  Also had the lowly New York Giants, you know, the ones who didnt stand a chance, take down the high and mighty Patriots and send  the dynasty to the grave and blatantly destroying a perfect season as well on the way to a SB championship.

Now we have Davidson, having taking the mighty Heels to the wall early in the season, take out the bigger names Georgetown and Wisconsin, on their way to the Elite Eight. Regardless of what happens from here on out, they can say that when the chips were down, they were at least one of the best 8 teams in the country.

What a year this has been already. Gotta love the Madness!!!

Good job on that poll question last week, CBS.  Anyone who voted on that "How many more games will Wisconsin win?" poll was wrong no matter how they voted.

What I've learned...

November and December games mean something.  Challenge yourself to improve as a team.  Play some non-conference games that mean something and go on the road to play them.  The Gonzaga formula works.

@ NCarolina; @ Western Michigan; @ Duke; @ Charlotte; @UCLA; @ NC State.  All six losses for Davidson this season.  Six games that likely meant a heck of a lot more to the losing team than the winning team!

Davidson deserves all the credit in the world.  That's a great team, they deserved to win, and the should be incredibly proud.

That said, the Badgers laid a total egg tonight.  They looked lazy, sloppy, and unmotivated, particularly in the 2nd half.  A lot of that can be chalked up to Davidson's defense, which was great, but this is (along with the Duke game earlier this year) the absolute worst I've seen my team play all season long.

Again, congrats Davidson.  You guys earned it.

What I saw in Davidson tonight was a great fundamentally sound basketball team.  From always getting in position for a rebound, boxing out, securing the ball after the rebound to the shut down press defense and moving without the ball on the offensive end (I could go on), Davidson is a well coached team.  I was very impressed with their performance tonight.

Where are all the Wisconsin fans? After they beat K-State all we heard was how they were going to win the national Championship. They were talking alot. I want to hear from them now!!!!! I told them that the K-state win wasn't that big of a deal, they lost to Neb and Mizzu.

You just heard from one.  And I never heard a single Wisconsin fan say we were going to win the national championship.  When we play well, we can play with the best teams in the country.  But we didn't play well tonight, and we ran into a team playing some great, great basketball.
