I often wonder who has truely become the Mvp on this team. Is it popular favorite Chris Paul or is it underated powerhouse David West?

hmmm.. another poll eh? hehehe.. that's a tough one. I think both of them deserve credit for bringing the Hornets to the top of the Wild Wild West. But for the sake of argument, I would pick CP3.
Reasons:
1. He watches out for his teammates: "While West claims to not “concern myself with chitchat,” Alston’s comments rankled the rest of the Hornets. No one more so than Paul, who accused Alston of riding Tracy McGrady’s “coattails". “Man, it was the truth,” Paul said. “You can’t say that about a guy who’s been an All-Star when you haven’t.” according to: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=jy-hornetsrise032508&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
2. He handles the ball well and gives it to his teammate for easy bucket much like West's winning shot.
3. That's his number.
4. You can build a good team around Paul, as for West, I'm still undecided. Let's wait for the playoffs to see how these two handle the pressure. That would give us enough basis for comparison.

Who says David West is underrated? Chris Paul gets more attention because he runs the point. David West has been as consistant as any player in the league this year.
There"s a reason it's been called the "Paul to West combo," Chris Paul knows West can score. Like we saw tonigh, he gave up the lane for a West 15 footer. Great play from one playmaker to another.
Paul gets the nod because he is first in steals, first in assisists, and top 15 scoring. Though West is a great scorer and consistant. He is(unfortunaty) not tops in any catagory.

I'm a Cavs' fan, so I don't know nearly as much about your team as you do, but I would have to say that it is, hands down, Paul. Not that West isn't an excellent player in his own right, but Paul also MAKES him better.
You could see that symbolized tonight. Paul's ability to drive drew attention from West's defender (Anderson or Joe), and Paul made the right pass to give a teammate a wide open shot to win the game. You've got to give the credit to West for knocking it down, but without a guy like Paul, it would have almost certainly have been contested.

West or Paul.... that is easy. Paul. He set up a pretty easy 17 footer for West to win the game. 20 assists to 1 turnover. 1 more turnover they could lose the game... i mean how much pressure is that? For all the times he has the ball in his hands and he does not turn it over much. Its nuts. West is the most underrated player in the game but Paul is MVP caliber in the league... he makes players better and is clutch.

I am a Cavs fan, so I have no bias here... But I'd have to say Paul is the team MVP... As good as West is, he wouldn't be nearly as effective without Paul setting him up (like the game winner tonight, for example)...

Due to his stats and what he brings in the court I'll have to say Chris Paul.

Yeah...props to West. He is a great player. Honestly though, I've been astonished with cp3's incredible play ever since he first came onto the ACC scene at Wake Forest. He can shoot, he can handle, he can defend, he can pass, but really there's something else to him that I don't really know how to describe; he's just got it. He gets it. He'll be a winner for years to come.
