Standing next to Justin Upton and Troy Tulowitzki for the Sports Illustrated "Baseball Preview". That's pretty cool

It's about the draft class of 2005 and the inside features articles about those three, plus Camerin Maybin, Jay Bruce, Ryan Zimmerman, and Clay Buchholz & Jacoby Ellsbury. There's also the Brewers preview as well as a preview for every MLB team

Here are the SI predictions for the Central

1) Chicago (91-71)
2) Cincinnati (87-75)
3) Milwaukee (85-77)
4) Houston (74-88)
5) St Louis (73-89)
6) Pittsburgh (70-92)

Check it out if you guys get a chance

Absolutely awesome!  My wife subscribed to SI for me and surprised me with it.  This was my first issue and I was pretty pumped to see Brauny on the cover.

Too bad those Central predictions are going to be way off.  Brewers in 3rd, Come on and the the Pirates with 70 wins give me a break.

I really believe the Brewers will be much better than 4 more wins this year to last.  I think the biggest concern is they may get off to a slow start because they have a lot of new faces and have to deal with the Gallardo injury and Cameron suspension.  But, once this team gets rolling, look out MLB.  My prediction last year was 82-86 wins - and those who read the boards at that time remember that I stuck to that all year - I was one of the few.  My prediction for this year - 91-95 wins.  The reasons the Crew is 10 games better - much improved (and deeper) bullpen, Mike Cameron and Jason Kendall over Geoff Jenkins and Johnny Estrada, and Ryan Braun in the outfield and Bill Hall in the infield - where they both belong.

Hey don, I thought of you when I read this in Larry Dobrow's column:

The Mark Prior (wishful thinking): A bold prediction: Ryan Theriot will be one of baseball's best shortstops in 2008 if he develops some power and learns to lay off crappy breaking pitches and stops running the bases as if blindfolded and increases his range at shortstop. To sum up: If Ryan Theriot becomes the precise opposite of Ryan Theriot, he'll be awesome.

Cincinnati hahaha thats funny.

Chicago Maybe but just because they havent won a World Series in 100 years doesnt guarantee them a good season or even a WS win.  There are 12 teams in my mind that have a legit shot at winning the WS, the Brewers and Cubs are two of them.  Itll def. be a two horse race this season if both teams can stay healthy.

Anyone but me worried about the SI cover curse?

Anyone remember Tony Mandarich?

Not that Braun is going to turn out to be talentless like Mandarich but I now suddenly fear injury.
