It is sad to see him go as he had a great career but at the same time I'm glad he is going to stay with the organization. I didn't realize he had played that many consecutive games probably because he was overshadowed by Favre's streak. At least he can feel young again with his new position lol.

Oh no, what will the Packers do without their long snapper?  They can sign me, I'll do that for 250K per season, I'm not too shabby either.

I guess the writers are really struggling for interesting story topics.

It's down time for them no big free agent signings and the draft is still a few weeks away.  So they need to do something to kill time.

Kinda off subject, but

With Brett(38) and Rob(39) retiring,  how low is the team average age?

It's got to be low.

After going through the Packers roster, I came up with their average age of 25.44 years old.  This number is ridiculously low and that should make the Packers a real threat for years to come. It will only get lower also after the draft.

As players become more and more specialized in the NFL, Rob Davis was even more specialized then normal.  He was not a center, he was a long snapper.  He had one job to do and he did it well.  After Holmgren introduced himself to Davis the first time, he said something to the effect of "Now I never want to have to talk to you again."  That's the true measure of success for any offensive linemen.  The only time you heard his name was when they were talking about ties to the Super Bowl team or consecutive games played.

Sad to see his playing career end, but glad he will continue to be a positive force for the organization.
