Yeah schneck, I joined the band as an elective because grades werent doin too good (band was basically a free A).  Didnt know I was that good, I mean I felt if you can count and have rhythm you can play percussion.  Ended up marching once my ankle was healed from football.

Wasnt too big on the concert band tip at first, but hey it was definitely a chance to get outta class for district festivals at Sarah T. Reed, go outta town for state, and above all see how fine the girls really was in the shorts they aint let us wear at school (Yes!)

Im not hatin on the kids, but this year at state you might want a chaperone In front middle and back sections of the bus.

Simba, join the band dawg - you just might like it.

hhahaha.. the band director from our school (well, i should say the ex band director) got kicked out because he was sending naked videos/pictures to a so called "15 years old girl." but she was really a police officer trying to catch crazy men like this. i'm sure some of you have heard of him because this was all over the news.

i don't believe the new band director is really that good. (so i've been told)

Somethin easy and fun?

Percussion Simba.  Cant go wrong wit it.  The others you have to pay attention to notes and stuff.  Percussion is just rhythm, then theres all kinda instruments that ya learn about.

Marching season (football and possibly Mardi Gras), Snare drum, Tenor Drum, Bass Drum, maybe a tri tom.  Crash Cymbals

Concert season - Hell too many to name..... Snare, Bass, Tympani, Maracas, finger cymbals, Crash Cymbals, Bells (warning: dont be a bell player), chimes, wood blocks, claves,

Aite you get the point, but all in all, if I was to do it again, Id do it again.  Now if your band dosent go to district or state, then it might not be so much fun.  Might not get to see some of the girls wear short shorts.

Oh, and dont advertise that you in the band, ya boys might not take that too well.  Put it to you like this, they got some athletes at your school thats in the band, but people dont even know it.  They athletes first, but they play during concert season and you know nobody pays attenton to those assemblies.  Im sure schneck probably have issues with em too.

I used to always trip out on how into playing they were. I think its kewl! I was always able to talk Saints football with em too.....Works for me! b
