You know its funny how you alol started this trash the Pac-10 junk to start the season, saying the Big-East was a better conference. We said wait till the tourney, which started great for you all on day one, while the Pac-10 faltered somewhat. Devo and the gang were singing praises of day one and the trash talk was on, but remember there is more than the first round. Now as the Big East has embarrased itself in round two, and we have a very strong 3 that we expected to move on the Big East fans of thios board have dropped off like there teams from the tourney. Gee, I guess the Pac-10 was really the best conference.

How exactly do you conclude that the Big East embarrassed itself in Round 2?  #7 West Va finished with 7 conference losses and beat #2 Duke, who didn't lose that many games in its entire schedule (conf + non-conf).  #12 Villanova barely made the NCAA Tourney after eeking out a 9-9 BE conference record, but handled the #5 Clemson Tigers, who finished 3rd in the ACC and lost to UNC in their conference tourney finals.  #3 Louisville destroyed #6 Oklahoma.  It was actually hard to watch that game because I was so embarrassed for OK's players.  They didn't even belong on the same court.

I guess you're referring to #2 G'Town losing a close game to Davidson.  Well, ok.  Is that so much worse than USC losing to an 11 seed by 13 points?  Maybe, but not by a lot.  The one embarrassing showing was ND getting blown out by Wash. St.  I guess you're basing it all on that.  Of course, Wash. St. was the higher seed, but not supposed to be 20 points better.

All in all, I'd say the BE and PAC-10 have pretty much been about even when it comes to under- and over-achieving.  Let's see how it plays out as both have 3 teams in the Sweet Sixteen.  If I had to make a prediction, I'd say your conference clearly has the better shot at having a Final Four rep or two.  Considering you have a 1, 3, and 4 seed left, while the BE has a 3, 7, and 12 left, that's not a hard prediction, right?

WOW Gtown gets beat by a hot team, Marquette loses to a higher seed, same with ND. Congrats to the mighty PAC10, you all have 3 teams left and so does the BE. UCLA has snuck through the past what? 5 games? Stanford just whipped up on the 6th best team in the BE by 1 point in OT.

At least the BE's teams belonged in the tourney. 7 wins in the first round proved we had great teams. 3 of you alls teams couldn't even make it past the first day. Arizona and Oregon proved they couldnt hang. You all have 3 good teams that made the sweet 16, congrats so does the BE.

Overall records
BE= 10-5
PAC10= 6-3

Man, that grammar on this thread is classic. And keep in mind, that's someone from Kentucky commenting on how sad the grammar is.

Not picking fights but you Big Easters forgot to mention Pitt, the tourney champ losing to a lower seed as well, that was a tad embarrassing.  But, I've been all for Nova until their next game.  I have no want to join a conference fracas.  My Big 12 is doin ok though, all that were expected to win have done so, and even a slight upset and a half  (A&M).

I love how immediate Louisville fans are to still beat their chests about the Big East. Sure I know the comments are coming about how the SEC sucks. Save it. I know. I watched it all year. Sure you guys won big and didn't embarress yourselves but others like Georgetown, Pitt, and Notre Dame did. It was a big time round 2 flop save three teams. Five of the super conference teams are gone after the last two days. I'm sorry but that is overrated.

That's just silly.  As mentioned, the Big East is deep this year, but there is/was no powerhouse (like UCLA or Memphis) ruling the conference.  And no one ever claimed otherwise that I've seen.  So what that means is you're going to get a lot of teams in the Dance (which they did), and ALSO that you're going to be matched up against higher seeds in many cases.  So yes, Pitt lost to a lower seed, G'Town lost to a lower seed, and UConn lost to a lower seed.  I think we can all agree to give UConn a pass since they lost their top player and still almost won.  And also yes, WVU and Villanova beat higher seeds.  What's the lesson?  That the Big East goes deep in quality, but doesn't have one team that's on that elite, dominant level with UNC, UCLA, Memphis, Kansas.  In fact, the BE's fortunes in the NCAA Tourney thus far have been very similar to how the conference went.  Some favorites lost, and some dogs won.  You make a mistake if you think the BE is considered a "Superconference" by some because it has a lot of teams near the top.  It's the depth that makes it such a strong conference.  Memphis might be the best team in the nation, but it isn't in a conference anyone thinks is strong.
