Ooops...did that too quick.....
This will be the first #1 seed to fall. Hansbrough will get his points but you guys have the backcourt to match up well against them. Besides the Tar Heels haven't played any type of defense all year. I believe the Cougars can and will shut them down. Good luck guys....!!!

I'm lovin what you're throwin down. I don't think that Carolina will deal with our defense that well. That fact that they have put up over 100 points each game this tournament is a little scary though. As long as we can keep Baynes and Cowgill out of foul trouble, we can definitely take this game. They aren't scoring 100 points, 90 points, maybe not even 80 against us. We will have to have some hot hands though. Low and Weaver need to continue their tear on offense, Rochestie (continue dishing assists) needs to pick it back up and if we can get a consistent Cowgil (who has been this tourney) and Baynes (first game dominance) we will succeed. Bold prediction: WSU 78 NC 75. This will be a battle, but there will be no blowout either way. Though, we continue to play the stiffling defense we've been playing thus far, we will win by 10+. I am I too confindent, too optimistic? I don't think so, I'm just a die hard Cougar FAN! Thursday is a glorious day!

Thanks for your encouragement.
It will be interesting how Vegas handles the Over/Under....if WSU can control the tempo, like we did with ND, then we should be in a position to win at the end of the game.
It would be great to play UCLA one more time this season!
Good luck in the next 4 games!!

Good luck against UNC!!!! Knock out a #1 seed and you guys will be likely to get to the final four. Remember, you guys were up in the top 5 early this season. Represent the PAC 10 Right.
Good Luck

I hope you're right! the acc has not been able to match up with hansbrough's size this year. everyone in the acc is tired of him bulling his way through the lane & getting all the calls. although i am a nc native, i am a blue devil and i want to see the heels get their arrogance crushed in their home state. go cougars!!!

I have been saying that we match up well against NC, and I'm sticking to it. I have seen them play a lot this year and there is no question they are going to have trouble with our defense. They need to run the floor, we will not let them. The teams that we have had trouble with are those who are comfortable playing a half court game . The teams we have destroyed are the one who keep trying to force the fast break; you just can't do that to WSU.
I think NC is more than capable of playing a half court game, and certainly of beating us at it. But that wont be easy, and I just don't see their team mentality maintaining discipline at that tempo. Thirty seconds of defense, and deliberate team offense every single possession is really going to wear on a team that is used to running up and down the court scoring 80+ a game.
The crowd could really play a factor in keeping the emotion and aggression at high level for the Heels, that certainly will put a damper on our plans. I'm looking forward to a great basketball game. No one seems be giving us much of a chance, but we will be in this game at the end.
Go Cougs!

You must be joking.
"Knock out a #1 seed and you guys will be likely to get to the final four."
If you manage to beat UNC, and you won't, you would then play Louisville or Tenn, followed by Kansas, followed by Memphis or UCLA. I think your road to a national championship is a bit rockier than you think. But then I see you are only looking to get to the final four. Not good enough.
Someone here said Carolina doesn't have a half court game. If anything, our 7 games without Ty Lawson forced us to develop a half court game to go with our running game. You'll see plenty of both on Thursday. And the scouting report that we don't play defense was never really true, and certainly not now. Roy Williams would "criticize" the defense early in the year to wake the guys up to the importance of playing defense. Believe me we are are awake, and playing great defense now. Have been for over a month.
I've got nothing against Washington State, but don't get your hopes up. Best of all Carolina, this year especially, has heart, and a will to fight, as hard as it takes, to win.
Good luck. I hope it's a good game. But UNC will still have 3 more to play after Washington State.
Cheers!
A Carolina fan.

That was posted by a UCLA fan, so settle down. If you didn't notice, none of the WSU fans that have replied to this post are guaranteeing a win against NC. WSU fans ARE feeling a lot better about their chances though. Last Thursday I thought the odds of them even getting a chance to play Carolina were slim, but WSU is playing the best ball they have all season, and that's even with them having subpar shooting nights in both of their blowouts in the 1st two rounds. So......although I still think that NC has to be the favorite to win this game, don't for a second consider this one a foregone conclusion. Also, I wouldn't categorize NC as playing great defense at any point this season. They're certainly capable of doing it, but it's usually when they want to or need to at the end of the game. Their win over Duke is an excellent example of that. In the end, this game is going to come down to tempo and fouls. If it's quick paced, WSU is done. If it's slow paced AND Baynes and Cowgill stay out of foul trouble, then NC will have their hands full.
