Was caught up in the moment of the game, but afterwards was very classy in how he went about himself during the press conference

eric2311,

Great point but you have to remember that Trent Johnson acted this way even in a LOSS.  When Stanford got screwed by a terrible against UCLA in the end of the season, he did not complain about the refs afterwards and just said that Stanford could not close out.  He has always been classy in both victory and defeat.

Also, for the record, he rarely gets technicals, did not swear.  It was funny as ESPN was showing the three previous coaches who got ejected in NCAA History and they were all going bezerk before and after the technical.  Johnson was nothing close to that.

The ref who called the second technical has called the most technicals among refs in the country.  I think he went overboard....

Overboard indeed! I wouldn't have been half as gracious as Trent, even though Stanford won. It was a horrible call and then for the refs to send out a memo and lie about the whole ordeal: a TV timeout had been called, as evidenced by the stoppage in play and the wire notes on sports websites which updated before Trent's technicals. But the NCAA really needs to take better care of assigning refs to these tourney games and all games in general. Do we really need trigger happy refs period!?!
