Well its all over. I sit here watching more games, in a beer induced haze, and surprising enough I'm not as upset as I thought I would be. Bottomline was he played a great game, but just came up short against a better team. But it is not like we have pissed away an opportunity, my friends this is just the beginning. I haven't felt this optimistic since we lost to Rhode Island in the 93 NCAA's first round. The next year we went to the Elite 8. I'm not claiming a elite 8 run next year, but barring injury, suspension, etc we should have a even better year. We return our starting 5, and our depth will be back. That depth should include a bigger stronger, JuJuan Johnson and Scott Martin. I even think Calason will get better as well. We will have a very dedicated Senior in Marcus Green, and our captain Chris Kramer will finally have an off-season where he can dedicate himself in getting better, instead of going through surgery. Lets keep our heads high, we played a great game and just came up short to a better team. But let it known that we aren't going away anytime soon.

was i missing something or did it seem that the refs called a lot of fouls when only xavier was in the paint? It felt that the refs werent calling it both ways... and the sly clock manager trying to waste a few seconds here and there.

I hope you're joking. The officiating was just fine, there might had been a few calls that could had gone our way but that is how it goes sometimes. We made our own bed with some timely defensive breakdowns, and some poor shot selection. Not to worry though October is only 7 months away, lol.

I think it is about time that Keaton Grant gets the respect he deserves. Not only is he an offensive talent, but the guy is fantastic on the defensive end as well. 2 more years of having that guy. We are loaded, as long as Hummel don't disappear during March again.

Grant is great, but not a true point guard, Hummel, I believe hit is wall, maybe to much time off, or maybe to much practice, seemed to just hit the freshman wall. A couple of fouls were phantom, but they made the And 1's, we didn't, or didn't even get as many chances, just a good game, but lack of experience.

We had the lead to start the game but we lost it half way through the 1st half. We also got the lead back last in the 4th, but yet again, we lost the lead and the game. Xavier just played better basketball and wanted the Sweet Sixteen more.
Overall, though, this was a great season for the Boilers. Good luck next year.

I meant '2nd half', not '4th'. And i also meant to say 'late' not last'. Gosh so many mistakes.

I think he's the most clutch player on the team; I wish he'd had the ball more at the end of the game. E'Twaun seems to miss more at the end of the game.

From a Xavier fan, great season Purdue!
I was very impressed by the class of the fans and players before, during, and after the game. This is a young team that definatly has a Final Four trip in its near future.

Yes, its too bad it all has to end sometime, so as you can see the avatar has changed for the next emotionally draining season... Cubbies... I know I mest be a glutton for punishment... I tell you what, what a fun season this was from our Boilers, and we still have a couple of Big Ten teams that are playing great ball in the tourney...
Under Gene Keady, Purdue was always notorious for finding nice JuCo talent, and under his tutalidge, I'm sure painter is going to score a nice big man to compliment Calasaan, and Johnson (JuJuan has HUGE upside if he can hit those weights), to allow our Boilers to make a great run next season...
On one last note, it was great to see Crump finish off his season playing with a lot of fire and heart. Against Lavendar he played great, they had their own speedster one on one battle that was fun to watch, and he should be very proud about the way he finished his college career...
BOILER UP!!!!!!!!
