Whats up Wildcats' Nation? I am a Miami Heat fan and also a fan of the University of Miami Hurricanes fan and well I have a question for you guys about your guy Michael Beasley... As it stands my Miami Heat team will have the first overall pick in the draft and Beasley is among the list of players who should be selected either 1 or 2 in the draft, of course depending on whether or not Beasley does decide to come out after just one year of college basketball.

My question to you guys is this... I know the kid can play both the PF and SF position, but I would like to know from you guys think would be the primary position he plays in the NBA given both his offensive and defensive talent?

Given Beasley's offensive and defensive talent, why is it best for him to play the PF position in the NBA?

Given Beasley's offensive and defensive talent, why is it best for him to play the SF position in the NBA?

Your thoughts?

Thanks a lot and good luck in your game today... I am enjoying it.

My thoughts?

This is not true for all sports, but when a college basketball player makes the jump to the NBA, they are no longer an athlete. They are merely an entertainer.

Amen. Even when KSU had guys in the NBA, the quality of team play was never as good as college hoops.

Regarding Beasley, who cares what position he plays. He's good enough that he'll improve any team he plays for. Hopefully in 2 years and not next year

I don't think it matters if he's a 3 or 4 in the NBA. He'll be a mismatch for most teams once he learns the intricacies(sp?) of an offense. He has the athleticism and quickness to beat the bigs, and the power and length to beat the guards. He has great hands and can handle the rock. He has a terrific jump shot and can bring it out to three point range.

On defense, he has a tendency to pick up some silly fouls, but can also make some spectacular plays. He has amazing hops and can rebound with the best of them.

who cares what position he plays, if he leaves KSU, as long as he is not sitting on the bench like Wayne Simeon. He should get to play no matter what if they need him or not. He has so much talent he could probably play any and every position they assign to him.
