Welcome to the 2nd Round boys, wow, haven't said that since what '98-'99? Wow it really has been a long time. Sonny looked like he was off to another awful start against Indiana late Friday night, missing his first two shots. Indiana Head Coach got an early technical foul, and thats all Sonny would need to get going.
You always hear commentators say that free throws are the best way for a shooter to get his touch when he is cold from the floor. Good move by Pelphrey to send Weems to the line to take the technical free throws, he sank them both. From then on Sonny Weems never missed another basket, he finished the game without missing another shot. Amazing, this team is 12-0 when scoring 80 or more points. This team is now 6-1 against Top 25 Ranked teams, could they add 7-1 against Top 25 Ranked teams? I hope so.
I believe DJ White is just as good a player as Tyler Hansbrough. It will once again be up to Steven Hill, Charles Thomas, and Darian Townes to stop Tyler inside, and Darian or Charles one needs to have a big game. Sonny continues to shoot well, Beverly adds his 12-16 points, and Gary Ervin plays another smart game...then I think we have a shot.
North Carolina is a very smart team, and are as well coached as they come behind Roy Williams. Should be a good game.

Well man I think we might have a chance with the Tarhills if we play like we did in the second half. What an incredible coaching job by John Pelphrey. What did you think when you seen Steven Hill coming out and going in as they changed from defense to offense. It really seemed to work by keeping Gordon out of sink and White didn't know what to think. I really enjoyed watching a good team from another conference having to play our game and at our tempo as well. It just seemed that Coach Pelphrey felt like his team actually got what he has been teaching them all season. It could not have come at a better time too.
Anyways had a chance to read some of your threads and stuff and I think your very knowledgable about the Hogs and the game of basketball. I'm impressed and I don't say that very much.
Enjoy the rest of the tournament. I am hoping my prediction holds true. If not , it sure has been a great year for the Razorbacks. I would think Pelphrey has moved the program by leaps and bounds. From here on out , even when we start rebuilding the squad, I would think we are in good hands with Pelphrey.
Take it easy HogsRoll07!

I thought we actually beat them at their own game! We had a couple of plays that went the length of the court, but all in all, it was pretty slow paced. We played very good down low and Pelphrey did an incredible job with substitutions from defense to offense!
We can definitely beat North Carolina! They won't put up a 113 against our stingy D! What a shame about Stephen Welsh! He has hit some big shots lately. Does anyone know how bad the injury is? He shows great potential for next year!
Go Hogs!! Take the Tar Heels to the SlopHouse!!!!

Here Here!
That win has me on a big time up swing right now! Welsh looked very upset on the bench so it may not be good. If anyone has news fill in... The Hogs play this way and they can beat UNC. Now they just need to make sure they focus and bring this A game!
GO HOGS!

Great win by the Hogs, and I completely agree that you beat them at their game, and other than Gordon, IU actually played very well. It's just that Weems and Townes were playing championship basketball.
I hope you get Welsh back, but I think you can take UNC even if he isn't. Hill will affect Hansbrough, and Ty Lawson may not have played against a guy that is at least as quick as he is, like Gary Ervin.
Weems and Beverley have to play well of course, and I expect them to.
Congrats, Hogs, from a KY fan that always pulls for the Razorbacks every game that isn't against UK.
Keep it up.

This is what it is all about the NCAA tournament and a matchup with the number 1 team in the nation. The North Carolina Tarheels are an exceptional team that I believe that we can not only compete with but defeat.
