Jamar Butler will be in this years NCAA 3-Point Contest.  It will be held on Sunday April 6th.  How do you think he will fair in the contest?

I think he has a great chance of winning the 3-point contest this year. He is such a poised shooter and is lights out when he gets to spot up. I am excited to watch him in this and hope he does well. It could really improve his NBA chances if he wins this contest and leads Ohio State to an NIT championship.

Yeah, I've seen him before many games hit 10 or more in a row from the 3-point line.  I know there is a little bit more pressure since it is a competition.  But I wouldn't be surprised if he goes off and kills this competition.

Who are the other shooters in this competition? I know Chris Lofton from Tennessee has a deadly shot, but he has had a down year. If he gets his act together I don't see him losing this thing.

Do you happen to know who is participating in the dunk contest?

I don't think winning the NIT is going to impress NBA scouts all that much.  These aren't good teams playing in the NIT.

And I suppose losing the NIT would impress the scouts even more?

These aren't good teams playing in the NIT.Yes they are.  Unlike the NCAA Championships, the NIT actually takes the best available teams.  Tell me with a straight face that Ohio State, Syracuse, ASU or Dayton wouldn't have crushed any of those 16 seeds.  I don't want the Dance format to change, but if the NCAA actually took the 64 best teams, everyone I mentioned (and several more) would have been in, no questions asked.

Sure, they would have beaten any of the #16 seeds, probably #15 or 14 seeds too.  The point is the best 35-40 teams in the country are playing in the NCAA tourney, the rest are invited to the NIT.  Ohio State has played two home games against teams that aren't very good.  Who ever remembers who won the NIT?

the buckeyes have had an up and down year due to the team being so young..so if butler can carry his team and show the great leader that we all know he is, this would help him a lot for the nba..butler is definitely no worse than a steve blake in the nba..it is just about getting the right opportunity by a team that has a need to someone like butler..but the more butler gets to play the better his chances would be in making the nba..
