Excuse me bible thumpers, this is a FREAKING SPORTS MESSAGE BOARD not a place for clueless people to prove to the world how brainwashed and ignorant they are.  Please go find an alter boy love site or something to spew your garbage.  It is not welcome here.

Thanks.

Going back to the origin of mankind.............

It is true that none of us were there. Neither can there be any form of written record in the form of current day language or writing.

It is also true that the human mind is limited, though it has amazingly achieved a lot of breakthroughs. As late as 1903, man started to fly.....the Smith brothers......and by the late 70s, we landed on the moon.

Despite our limitations, we can still try to understand the origin of man. I am saying that it is far too simplistic to assume that EVOLUTION is the answer. If we put our thoughts into the fact that it takes 1 billion pairs of proteins [nucleotides] strung correctly in sequence to produce the first man, then EVOLUTION will take easily 1 trillion years to sequence just 30 pairs......with a good 1 billion minus 30 to go.

Man created words and language. To string the previous paragraph by sheer chance will take.....26X26X26 ...[no of alphabets times the letters, ignoring upper and lower case]......perhaps a billion years.

I am saying that CHANCE cannot make MANKIND.

It has to be an intelligent mind.....person.....creator......call The BEING whatever you wish.

Tim, just a possible scenario....what if there have been the original materials for the random creation of life on a trillion worlds, and this is the one where the odds finally worked in life's favor?

I don't understand how odds can really be determined for the random creation of life, I would think you would need some sort of comparison.  I'm certainly no authority on determining probabilities, however, so I could be completely wrong :)

Actually my statement was that christians give up some of their happiness now for greater happiness later on.  I never claimed they weren't happy now

Actually, unlike Pura, I have been much happier since I was a Christian.

. think you lose focus when your clowns are gone

That is a rock solid theory!  Wait, you were the one who asked me to get rid of ........

Ha ha ha!

I was just hoping the Celtics make it farther, so we don't see those ugly things for awhile.

Meant to say, since I became a Christian.  Sorry, Pura, bet you thought you won one over.

Maybe you should actually try to understand evolution before commenting on it? It'll save you from looking more ignorant than you already do. Natural selection, the mechanism of evolution, is decidedly not random.

We can try to understand the origin, but success may be impossible.  I agree our minds have done amazing things, but there are limitations, at least I believe there are.

I understand that strict probability is a tough sell and you present an excellent example.  I don't think that the equation is quite as linear as you make it though.  I think that you have to look at the probability of the first life form occuring and take into account different conditions in organic make up of the planet, temperature, etc..  I think once the first life form occurs, the equations to determine the probabilities of various DNA sequences and new life forms are anything but linear because random actions are nearly completely taken away.

I am saying that CHANCE cannot make MANKIND.

I won't say that it definitely did or didn't.  Perhaps I'm being a bit dumb, but I am not convinced of this.

It has to be an intelligent mind

I guess that rules me out then. Ha ha!

I hope my responses were adequate enough for you.  If you want to debate further or have any questions for me please don't hesitate to ask or respond.  You have a very interesting position.
