Bodorean, good to see you ;) I have to inject my answer on a question to SBC.

If a person points a gun to your wife, and says, blaspheme toward God, or I will shoot. You can't be seriously thinking about letting your wife die, can you?

Yes.

Faith in God allows me trust what he does. It does not mean that I have to like it. If my wife was to be killed in front of me, I would be the one hurt, and would rely on God to get me through. My wife would be with Jesus. WITH JESUS! She's done! Praise God!! I am not wishing my wife's death by any means as we are the best of friends. She would be with JESUS! I have often prayed that the Lord take her before me (if not together), so that she would not have to deal with my loss.

I would be DEVASTATED, but she would be with JESUS!

Tony

I'm glad we can still make each other smile despite our disagreements.  That really is a test of who you are and the strength of your beliefs.  When you can make friends in the "enemy camp" you are probably doing something right.  Many of the posters here have done just that.

I concurr, but not being in either camp, but rather in the middle makes it easier to appreciate both sides. I have appreciated arguments both pro and con, and think just about everyone on this thread has my respect to varying degrees, except of course carolina8800. He is just nuts and most likely followed IIPapa here, as harrassing him is his favorite pastime. Oh and giving out indiscriminate warnings. Then lying about it saying that the other person (me) started it.

Sorry for the rant, carolina is just that annoying. He is worse than THE_MAN_NING, at least he is funny in his lunacy.

AB4C,

Why would you not blaspheme, when you could repent, knowing that you never meant it?

Think of it this way : the more those of us who do not believe understand those of you who do, the less likely we are to hold your faith in any kind of contempt or dislike.  Even if we don't believe, a better understanding can allow us to better accept.

Like wise my brother. It is thru understanding and tolerance that.. IMO.. I as a christian can achieve the love I am to have for my fellow man. If I never try and understand him and rebuke him calling him closed minded and ignorant how can I then say I tried to love him as my beliefs who ask me to? Look, my beliefs are my beliefs and you can't have them. No one can as we are all diffrent and look at things in diffrent ways, on eveything except one. The free gift of eternal life comes thru the belief of Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord and Master.

 AB4C,

Why would you not blaspheme, when you could repent, knowing that you never meant it?

hey Solomon ... Who knows what state of mind I would be in. Like SBC said, peter followed Jesus, literally, and was told (by Jesus) that he would do what he did (there goes that all-knowing thing again;), which was deny Christ three times.

If, I understand your question correctly, you are asking why wouldn't I take advantage of his Grace? It would hurt me deeply, to even say that Jesus is not my Lord.

Really, I do not know how I would handle it. How can you? I know how I would draw it up in my mind. We are only human though. I have often though about the girl from the Columbine shooting that was asked by the gunman, "Do you believe in God", as he was about to kill her, and she answered "yes", and was killed. She inspires me, and Jesus smiled, I know he did.

Ab4C

Ps. Your making me sad already.

One thing I have issue is when many believers claim everything around us is due to random chance.

Me too. There is nothing random in God plan..

If, I understand your question correctly, you are asking why wouldn't I take advantage of his Grace? It would hurt me deeply, to even say that Jesus is not my Lord.

I'm still a little unclear, why would it hurt you to issue a bunch of sounds (because thats all value they would have, you don't mean them, God knows you don't mean them) when you could save your wife? Doesn't the God helps those that help themselves maxim come in antwhere? I'm not sure exactly either that you would be required to repent actions that you were forced to perform. Besides, you say "why wouldn't I take advantage of his Grace?" but isn't that WHY he gives his grace, but for true repentance?

This is not a IIPapa described gotcha question to get you to say you would blaspheme. I just wouldn't want to be your significant other if you would be such a stickler to the letter of the law and not the spirit.
