Duck-It's what's for dinner! Just kidding. From what I know about your team, you can play really, really good or really, really bad. I guess we'll see Friday. We are very athletic, but terrible at free throws. Our play sometimes reminds me of watching playground basketball because we seem to be out of control a lot. What do you think you strong points and weak points are? I love March Madness!!!

Good to see you, Dog. In a way I'd guess the Ducks are the opposite of the Bulldogs. They rarely get "out of contol". Their problem is sometimes they never get started. If things are going well, the shots will be flying in from 3 point range, forcing the defense outside and opening up the basket. This will help us against your great shotblocking center, who already will be outside more than usual guarding the Ducks inside man, Leunen.
It's hard to put a name on Oregon's defense, it isn't pressure, they don't create a lot of turnovers. But, if they are making the switches and getting through the screens, they make it hard for the other team to get good shots. If Porter, the Ducks point, gets off to a good start that will really help the Ducks. If he isn't hitting his shot, the offense tends to stagnate.

On the positive side, we are athletic, can shoot the three, and are experienced. We never give up or get blown out and are in every game at the end. On the negative side, we don't always finish well, or get off to a good start, and we could defend and rebound better.
And there you have it, MSU Dog.

we have a couple of first-team All-SEC performers in 6'4" 230lb. junior pg jamont gordon (17ppg, 6rpg, 5apg) and 6'8" 245lb. senior pf charles rhodes (17ppg, 7rpg). we also have the SEC Defensive POY in 6'9" soph. c jarvis varnado (8ppg, 8rpg, nation-leading 4.6bpg).
we pretty much play like we're uncoached. there's a lot of one-on-one and ball screens and charles rhodes jumpers. we used to be a decent 3pt. shooting team, but we've hit a wall the latter half of the season. we are very sloppy with the ball, and it leads to frustrating turnovers. we DO rebound very well, and play lock-down D (2nd in country at 36.8%fg D). we gotta go to the hole and make a handful of threes to win this game.
what worries me though is, we lost a game at vandy (that we should've won) by last-second three, and, in the SEC tourney against bama, we allowed them to hit a three at the end of regulation to send it into OT, then watched one rim out at the buzzer of OT that would've won it for them. yall's streaky 3pt shooting will be key.
sounds like it should be an entertaining game

Should be a great game. Whoever wins, I hope Memphis goes down in the second round. I can't stand those thugs.

I was suprised to see the Ducks make the Tourny, especially seeded so high. They have a shot against MSU, but I don't see them getting past Memphis. I think they would have had a bettter shot in the NIT, I just don't see them getting past the second round in the NCAA.

Really well said by everyone. A few notes to add are that the Ducks were the top scoring team in the Pac-10 conference during the regular season and MSU has the leading blocks player in the country...along with what seems to be a pretty solid defensive showing by the other players on the Bulldogs as well! This game will be won and lost by the Bulldogs on the Free throw line and won and loss by the Ducks based on the number of 3 pointers made (we live and die by it!) and the number of turnovers committed. Another concern, as a Ducks fan, is the field goal percentage of opposing teams...which is very high...and a big concern...especially against a MSU team that seems to have some solid low post scoring. I can't wait for the game tomorrow...after seeing some pretty exciting ones today (along with blowouts)...especially the Duke-Belmont game which went down to the wire!
GO DUCKS!
