Round One: Jayhawksku88 vs. Pinktoad

Hey pinktoad, since no other fellow Jayhawks have come to at least try and convince some voters to vote for KU, I'm gonna try and earn Jayhawksku88 a couple points.  My guess is we're running on tradition alone right now.  And if you read this Jayhawksku88, come on and write your essay so us Jayhawks don't have to succumb to Portland St. as a one seed (Woohoo! Go Hawks in the big dance on Thursday). 

Being from Lawrence, most fans will say there's only one moment in our history that defines us as a school.  As overjoyed as I was when Jacque Vaughn hit the game winning three against number one Indiana at the time, or more recently when Brandon Rush led our team to three straight Big 12 titles, no moment in Jayhawk history compares to when we won the National Title in '88.  Starting as a six seed, we beat K-State heading into the Final Four to upset Duke.  We then beat Oklahoma, who many predicted to win the National Title, 83-79 to complete one of the best Cinderella seasons in NCAA history.

I know I'm a few words over the alloted amount (ten to be exact) but I figured since I'm not officially in the bracket it was okay.  Oh, and one more thing.  I commend you pinktoad for being a very great competitor.  Like you, I've read all the other essays out there and have noticed you campaigning for yourself in the majority of the match-ups.  That's a great way to win votes and if the Jayhawks lose this round, I'm glad it's to someone who has a chance to go further than the second round.

Ha, sorry Jayhawksku88, I just realized that the deadline wasn't until Friday so you have plenty of time left.  I was just reading the rules for the play-in game.  I still hope my post my have earned you a few votes, maybe.

lol.  Well, I know getting my Vikes past KU is a daunting task, so I have to do what I can.  I figure people are going to vote just because it's KU and they have a large fan-base, but we're judged on more than votes, so I'm hoping I have a shot to continue on.

Ha, well if Jayhawksku88 doesn't show up then you'll move on for sure, and I'll probably end up voting for you on whatever other match ups you have in the future.  It isn't easy upsetting a number one seed, that's for sure.  Good luck to you and if you do make it past us, then hopefully it'll be you winning the title rather than a UCLA or UNC representative.  I hope you'll root for us in the real deal if we do manage to slip by your Vikings (although if we play Oregon in the finals then I won't blame you for rooting for them).

Class posts walshdollar- IF I understand correctly voting ends Friday however the voting is only 20 percent so maybe some are working to produce an essay and not worrying abo
