i'd have to agree with picking ronnie to win it even with ricky looking so good so far. the improvements that Tuna has made already have hopes up for atleast a 500 season after last years abismal performance. plus if they draft jake long that makes the line better regardless of right or left 6-7 315 and nimble as a jackrabit run ronnie run who cares whose qb'ing

The pick is peterson, addia and LT are right there but may sit a week or two if they clinch, which is possible.  Grant is a flash in the pan and teams will load up on him to force rodgers to try and beat them, plus playing against Bears and vikes twice each is tough. westbrook would be my pick if he didnt miss 3 games every year.  parker is solid but mendenhall will steal carries now.  Martz throw happy system is in SF now so gore is out.  Mcfadden could be great but russell overs no protection.  LJ needs more OL help.  Possibly Jackson if pace comes back.  I cant think of his name now but that rookie for detroit will suprise this year.   But my pick has to be AP

First off how can you not include Willie Parker on there? I understand AD was injured and he caught up, but then again so was Willie for the last couple weeks. Willie has been a top 5 rusher the last 2 seasons. How can you put a rookie on there who has no offensive line? Just bc AD did what he did (behind a freaking solid O-line in Minnesota) does not mean DMC is going to run behind Robert Gallery? Addai will not win, he is in a passer friendly offense and there are too many other good runners ahead of him in the NFL. I'm not saying WP will win, but you have to at least include him ahead of some of those guys. Plus Pittsburgh's O-line will be better than people think. Kemoaetu is no Faneca, but he will surprise people. Hartwig will be a better center than Mahan and Zeirlein has had a year to coach most of these guys and get the new blocking schemes implemented. Look for Mendenhall to help Willie out giving him then a change of pace with a bruising power back similar to Bettis (albeit not the size, but much better speed).

dude? no Brian Westbrook? no Clinton Portis? either of these guys have a better chance than a rookie (Mcfadden)  or a couple of time shares like Barber Bush...dont take me wrong both of those guys are 2 of my favorite NFLers Gore is on a bad team so he is very much a longshot....Addai, L.T., and A.P. are all a big possibility but West/Clint have to be on the ballot....i vote Clinton 08'-09'

I think its a safe bet that Peterson is the favorite, Addai will lose some carries to receptions, Parker will split some of his time to the rookie this year, Barber as well. I think LT will still do well, but he will finally start to look human this year. My dark horse candidate is Gore, not just because I am a niners guy, but because if and this is a huge friggin if, Martz can get the passing game going, Gore might face less than 8 in the box for the first time in his career. I am very interested to see him in anything resembling a balanced offense, he may just push to the top of the class.

It's hard to argue against LT, he's in his prime and a proven performer season in and season out. I hate the Boltheads but it's hard not to admire LT and what he's been able to accomplish and there's no questioning the level of talent around him. Add the fact that neither Denver or KC seem to be able to stop the run, and LT looks like the safe choice coming into the season. If anyone ends up rushing for more yardage than LT, it could be Steven Jackson provided he can stay healthy. As far as dark horses are concerned, Marshawn Lynch has a better than average chance to be right up there at the top if he can stay healthy. I think Mendenhall will be a good enough rookie to take away some of Parker's snaps in Pitt this year, so that in itself could keep him out of the running for the title.
