Devin Harris has been an excellent addition for the New Jersey Nets so far. as he continues too get comfortable with his teammates. His play will only improve. His overall outlook in NJ long term is very bright.
I want to begin by saying that the trade for Devin Harris has worked out great for the Nets. By the end of his career he will have accomplished what Jason Kidd seeks but will never reach, the coveted championship. It is up to the Nets to put the right players in position to win, be it by drafting, trading, signing through free agency.
Now with so many talks about LeBron James coming to the Nets you can't play that into the picture just yet, but you can always imagine. In Jay-Z album Kingdom Come he refers to Lebron, song 6, at the end. Don't know what exactly is said or can't remember but something in the sense of that they are boys, something like that. If you don't this statement, go check, you'll hear it!
Now what I believe the Nets need to do is draft DJ Augustine. I could defend my point but I'd like hear what other people think. I'll leave you with these two line-ups.
There's no way we're getting LeBron James. Not a chance.
IF he were to leave his home town, he would probably sign with a big market team that has the cash to get him (Knicks, Clippers, Hawks), not with the Nets. I'm not sure where you got that info, but I can assure you that it's just a dream situation.
I also don't think drafting D.J. Augustin is a good idea. We've already got two true point guards in Devin Harris and Marcus Williams. Aside from that, if Augustin comes out, he'll be gone before we pick.
If we're going to draft any big names, it'll be a guy like Tyler Hansbrough (likely will be there at our pick). For the record, I don't think we're going to draft anyone. We might get a project type of guy, but more than likely we'll draft a foreign kid and let him play in his country like we did with Nenad Kristic.
As far as the Kidd trade, both teams made out. Dallas got the much better player now (which they need for a championship) in Kidd and with got some young pieces for the future in Harris Diop and Ager. I also agree with jtmas28195, we need a bigman at the draft not another point guard and Jefferson playing power-foward, I don't know if he's big or strong enough.
Hey jtjmas are u retarted? The Nets will be a big market team soon.. MOVING TO BROOKLYN idiot..... and with the Knicks being screwed for the next 20-30 years the nets will be the main focus in New York and yes Lebron has a really good chance of comming here cuz he will want to stay in the east and him and jay z are bros and he can be in the backcourt with mr Devin Harris and have RJ up front forming the leauges best 3!
#1. No need for name calling. I know it's tough to disagree with someone, and be civil at the same time, but I'm sure you're capable of doing it if you try!
#2. How many Nets fans are there? How many Knicks fans are there? The Knicks are STILL the most valuable team in the NBA according to Forbes. There's a reason for that.
#3. The Nets will NEVER get LeBron James. They cannot afford to pay him and Richard Jefferson. They could NEVER get the contract he would command under the salary cap, unless they traded away all of their viable players in order to do so. What are the odds of LeBron going from one loser to a bigger loser?
#4. Where in the world did you get that "Knicks screwed for 20-30 years"? Where did you get that figure from? Name one team whose actions in 1978 have in any way affected their current state of affairs.
In 30 years, most of the people who will be in the NBA won't even be born yet. All the huge contracts on the Knicks will be LONG gone. That comment cost you all credibility.
As stated many times before, the Nets getting Devin Harris was a great move. The two knocks on him for me is Devin not having that water consistent jumper and he turns the ball over too much too easy. He has a loose dripple. Once he tighten those parts, he will be complete.
Cleveland won't let L. James go away where, but putting the Knicks, Hawks, and Clippers ahead of the Nets ??? The Knicks right now is a joke situation. James was asked about going to the Knicks and said he had no interest. The Clippers owner has short arms with deep pockets. I think the Hawk's future look good but do they look better than the Nets? The Nets are moving to Bklyn and we(fans) hope this increase their draw.
