It's working out just great.  Payroll has nearly tripled over the last 3 years.

It's easy to "triple" when you go from 49.2 mil in 2002, to 47.2 in 2003, then to 27.5 in 2004.  Cubs payroll in 2002 was 74.9, and 07, just under 100 mil. 25.1 mil difference. Brewers in the same span from 02 to 07 grew 22.7 mil.

The "tripled" payroll hardly has anything to do with Brewer fans "sending a message" to the front office rather it's just the managment getting back to where their payroll should be after the salary was slashed in half. Is it really working out just great?

Then why did you bring up the topic of saves then?  You're the one who brought it up to begin with.  Just don being don; bring up something to try and prove your point, and then say that the same point is irrelevant when it's used against your case.  I can't say that i'm surprised.

I brought up his saves record, while he was the closer. Albiet that wasn't a long period of time, but those number are relivent to how he would do if he was the closer. His saves record while he was not the closer is irrelivent to how he would do as a closer.

I wasn't going to make an absolute statement, but you guys' support has won me over:

Cheetoh's Cheese Puffs are better than original Cheetoh's.

Condemn me if you will, but I feel the people have spoken.

He had a hairline crack in the bone, if it was during the season I'd doubt that he'd miss more than a game or 2.

Wrong, not to mention his legs are not right as evidenced by his move from the leadoff spot.

People don't just fluke into .353/.424/.652....

Yeah that would be like someone hitting 50 HR and then not coming close ever agai........oh wait, that happened.

Last year when Dempster was hurt, Howry filled in as the closer. He went 7 out of 8 in SVO, and in the one he blew, he ended up getting the win.

If Howry could close he would have supplanted Dempster a long time ago.

...but if he plays like the majority of his career.

He would be a great on base percentage player with speed and power?

It's the Brewers division to lose, just as it was last year.  Hopefully the rotation doesn't suffer many injuries, as that will be the key.  The Brewers have the better overall team than the Cubs, and no one else in the division is even close.  I dont' see any team in the division winning 90 games, so the Crew will have to take the division title to get into the playoffs.  If they don't win it, they will have no one to blame but themselves.

the team to win this division if the 1st, and only team to 90 wins... i say the Cubs (and for those of you screaming "BIAS!" you all used it too)
