I know the road ahead looks pretty bad but there could be light at the end of the tunnel.Elton Brand is on his way back and maybe he'll screw with your lottery odds. However next year could be a brighter year if they can draft a pg in this years draft.I think they are in the thick of things if Brand was healthy all year.So now with Cassell out of the picture you'll have to rebuild that position. However Maggette is proving why he shouldnt have been traded. And if Im the Clippers Im resigning the guy to be the 2nd scorer next to Brand(if both of them dont opt out).Kaman could be up for the most improved player award as he is really balling. And Thorton may not win it but is at least making a fuss about the rookie of the year award.Add Brand to all those positives and I think you would be fine.Add a great draft pick and the Clippers could be back in the mix next year.Or I can sell you the pipe dream of Livingston returning and being a solid player.Anyway dont be down on the organization as injuries happen to everyone. Some teams are in better situations to handle them, others arent. However no team can make up for the loss of Elton Brand anyway.Same thing happened when the Celtics lost Pierce along with a few more key players.Boy its too bad they didnt get the top pick, but luckily it worked out.Just hope for the 1st or 2nd pick or at least top 5 and see what they can dig out. They can still trade Al Thorton or their 1st round pick or both to get a key contributor.Artest or Arenas could be available who knows?

You are right. It could all work out in the end. Chris Kaman's improvement has been the best point of the season and maybe Thornton's emergence as a top player. I think they definitely can get back in the mix next year. TRIP DUBB thanks for getting my hopes up. You are awesome.

Thinking things are going to pick up is delusional. Check the salaries and you will see that Tim Thomas (who is having another typical night tonight) is locked up for two more years, as is Cutino Mobley. So what the Clippers have two years down the road is: Kamen, Mobley, Thomas, Thornton, coached by Dunleavy. Perhaps they can compensate for this with some first round draft picks of the likes of Michael Olewokandi.

THere is no light: there is just tunnel.

Actually Tim Thomas isnt that bad for what he's paid.Doesnt he make around like 6 million? He averages 13 ppg coming off the bench.Hopefully they have Brand and Maggette coming back along with the improved Kaman and Thorton. Not to mention most likely a top 5 pick or even higher.I think if they draft a pg or another sg they would have a solid foundation to contend with. They arent that bad of a team.As you see they are pretty decent at the defensive end.But lose your top scorer, your young promising pg,and a veteran pg in Cassell and you'll be at the bottom of the standings in the west as well.Trust me IF the Clippers dont trade Brand or let Maggette go they WILL compete for a playoff spot next year.I wouldnt mind seeing them land Rose or Gordon.Or maybe trading their pick away for a good player.Artest may be available for a sign and trade or Luol Deng and Ben Gordon as well.Im sure they'll take a high draft pick and another player for one of those guys especially Gordon or Deng. The Bulls wont have enough to resign both of them because I think they want to go after a big free agent. And like I said no telling if Livingston comes back healthy. When a injury leads to a bad season for teams like the Clipper, its really just a blessing in disguise.I mean look how the Celtics turned their season around. They had plenty tradeable pieces and a draft pick but just last year had the worst record. And they only got a 5th pick and got Ray Allen for it!Imagine the Clips getting a guy like Ray Allen for a 5th pick!Just imagine if the Celtics didnt get K.G. they'd still be competing in the east. They'd still have Paul Pierce,Ray Allen,Al Jefferson(20 ppg 10 rpg),and the rest of the supporting cast. The Clippers are a draft pick and or a trade away from contending.Just imagine if Lebron got hurt last year,we end up having the worst record, and drafted Greg Oden or Kevin Durant!Blessings in disguise.Heck even the Knicks may be a draft pick and a trade away from competing for a top seed in the east. They have plenty tradeable pieces and a top pick coming most likely.Eddy Curry,Marbury's expiring contract(if they find takers),Nate Robinson,Jamal Crawford, and a top draft pick.A team can definitely turn it around if their already in the thick of things.
