We've got some nice young offensive talent: Kopitar, Frolov, Cammeleri and others (Boyle) plus some savvy veterans on defense like Blake and Vishnovsky... so is it just goaltending or are the players just not buying into the system?
I don't live in the market anymore so I can't watch them very often. Somebody please tell me if the problem is youth or is Crawford just a poser that got lucky in Vancouver?

As a lifelong Kings fan from the east coast there are times I've called for Crawford's job because of the lack of spirit and fire power that I've seen this team bring to the ice some nights, especially when the D-Fense and goaltending suck!!!!    But turn the page some nights and this team is one to be reckoned with so Crawford looks like he's got them play'in and read'in the fine print..           Lets not throw the coach totally under bus yet when Dean Lombardi and this staff can't seem to get it together and pull enough strings to make a decent trade or solidifiy a #1 goaltender to atleast make a effort to show us that hey we're not just throw'in the towel and another season in THE CRAPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!       So we wait ...          GoKINGS

And I thought Lombardi did a great job by not giving away all our young players...

I gotta agree totally with that. Seriously, we got a huge amount of talent, it's just young... The longer this team stays together, the longer they get to mature together, and holy crap... We may end up being able to bring the cup to So. Cal a couple times in a row and show up them damn dirty Ducks. Well... Provided our team works on their defense a hair more and we get some consistency in the net... The longer our kids stay on the attack, the better off the whole team is right now. Hopefully that won't have to be the case for the next few years, but hell, I like watching us score 5 and 6 times in a night.

I think Crawford's biggest talent is also his biggest weakness. He loves to play with the lines, so when something is just not working, it gets changed... However, when things are working, they still get changed... But I guess variation is helpful to young players...

keep the young, weed out the old, establish a younger to middle age captain for and foundation in the locker room and you might just have a playoff bound team in two years. i've been following the Kings since there dismal dismemberment in 2002, it's been painful but never boring to watch the few games i can watch on the east coast. thank god for Center Ice. let's see what they can do with this draft pick.

I don't appreciate throwing seasons away to rebuild.  However, if Lombardi has a solid draft and resigns Ersberg than Crawford's job might be saved.  If the Kings come out next season and start flopping, Crawford will be done.  It has been a long 6 years without playoffs.  The Kings need to do something quick.
