According to ESPN.com's Chad Ford, the Grizzlies and Cavaliers are close to making a trade.

Cleveland gets:

Mike Miller
Brian Cardinal
Kyle Lowry

Memphis gets:

Ira Newble
Donyell Marshall
Shannon Brown
Cedric Simmons
Dwayne Jones
Cash
Draft pick considerations

I would hate for them to do this trade, but thankfully, it is only a rumor.

Never mind. Most of those players got traded in the Bulls/Sonics/Cavaliers trade.

How about this for a trade:

Memphis gets:

Cash considerations and the draft rights for Candace Parker

Los Angeles(Sparks) gets:

Kwame Brown (goes back to LA)

Brian Cardinal

Casey Jacobsen

Jason Collins

This will be an upgrade for the Grizzlies. They get a proven player in Candace who would step right in and be the Grizzlies second or third option!

Great post THE CRIB.  Is anyone in the NBA more overpaid than Brian Cardinal?  All kidding aside, this would be an upgrade for the Grizzlies.  Too bad the Grizz are going budget so they can sell the team at a low price.  It is just sad that the Grizz have come to this.  Three straight playoff appearances in the tough Western conference, and now we are as bad as the Timberwolves.  How long will this go on?

The most frustrating part is that even if the Grizz get the no. 1 overall, who do they select?

Beasley? Love? Maybe Gordon or the center from Texas? If you get no. 1 do you trade it for some picks and a player (if you could).

You've got 18 million to spend, do you go after a restricted guy like Ben Gordon or do you go after an Antawn Jamison who is unrestricted. Maybe you trade a pick for a lower pick in a player the way the Bobcats did last year with Jason Richardson.

Maybe Wallace can find a way to fleece Isaiah and the Knicks of some talent. Heck everyone else has. That said I would welcome Zach Randolph if the Knicks really don't want him. Hey, how about our first rounder, Kyle Lowry, Hak Warrick for Randolph Mardy Collins and David Lee.

I'm a Sooners fan, so I like Blake Griffin.  The Grizz definately need a solid power player.  Griffin is also a very good passer and selfless team player who attacks the boards with fury.  Beas(t)ley would surely be our pick if we got the #1 pick, but if we don't, I think Blake Griffin would be a solid pick.

Joey Dorsey man handled him earlier this year.

You really think he's the second best post player in the draft.

How about the kid from Stanford?

Course we could use just about anyone who can put the ball in the basket!

Griffin is a top 5 overall projected pick.  I assume you're talking about Brook Lopez from Stanford.  He's a solid player too.  I am biased towards OU and think Blake Griffin is as good of a passer for a big man as CWebb used to be or Divac when he was playing.  He would fit in nicely with Gay and Miller (if he stays).  The Grizz need everything!  I think picking the best available post player in the 2008 draft would be a good start.  By the way, why are we collecting the biggest post player draft busts of all-time?  Darko was the #2 pick ahead of DWade, Melo, and Bosh.  Whoops!  And Kwame was the #1 pick a few years back.  We didn't pick either one of them but got stuck with them.  Let Kwame go!  Hopefully when we pick this year, we will get a productive post player.

Nothing against Griffin, he just hasn't shown much against the best in the country.  However, I believe he is just a freshman so he could definitely develop.

Yes, I was refering to Brook Lopez.  Looked good against some of the upper tier PAC 10 schools.

Wow...Darko, Kwame, and Jason Collins (ironically from Stanford as well) and not an athlete in the bunch.  Well, at least and NBA athlete.

How about last night, starting Brian Cardinal.  BC can't guard me right now.  If BC went to Ed Rice community center (in Frayser) he'd be the 4th or 5th best player in the building guaranteed.  When Brian Cardinal get's started ahead of you, you suck!  How can any of those three even show their faces after being passed over by an old balding white guy whose so slow he gets clocked with a calendar and has a 2" vertical!
