Texas is currently ranked 7th in the country, but has beaten 3 of the teams ranked ahead of them, and lost to no one ranked ahead of them. They should be ranked in the top 4 at the very least.

They have beaten UCLA at UCLA, when UCLA was ranked 2nd nationally. They beat Kansas, when they were ranked 2nd. They beat Tennessee, on a neutral court, by 19 points. I am not sure but I believe they ( TN ) were #2 at the time also.

Now I see Kansas, and Tennessee both #1 seeds, and Texas a #2 seed, behind a team they stomped by 19 points??? Get real. Texas is 2-0 against these two teams.

If Texas wins out the rest of the regular season, no easy task in the BIG 12, they deserve a #1 seed.

If Texas is as great as you say then they did a really good job early in the season at making the Big10 look good.  Ohh hey maybe we've just stumbled upon another reason why some of the Big10 teams are ranked where they are.  I hope a certain Wazzou fan sees this...

sorry, didn't mean to go away from topic of the thread.  I agree Texas' marquee wins are certainly impressive and that running the table in B12 would be as well...

True, they were beaten by 1 point by Wisconsin, who probably will win the BIG 10 conference championship, and had early season   upset losses to Michigan State, Texas A&M, and Mizzou. When they lost to A&M, Mich. ST, and Wisconsin, those were  all  top ten ranked teams, two on the road, with one Texas starter not playing in all 3 games.

They are now healthy, and have already avenged the A & M loss to the tune of a 27 point margin. They may get a chance to avenge the Mizzou loss in the BIG 12 Tourney, ( something the BIG TEN is still afraid to attempt, a tourney) . Maybe they will get another shot at Wisconsin and/or Michigan State in the National tournament, I hope so. The Longhorns are playing better than either of them right now.

They show the wrong UT as a #1 seed in this article, the wrong shade of orange.

I think you need to check your facts.  The Big 10 does have a Conferance Tourney.

Go Badgers!

I agree that Texas has a good resume' going but you have to factor in the whole picture. They have four losses to teams that are currently ranked lower than 15th. I have been impressed by Texas but they have been inconsistant with their play against ranked teams. I want them to do well because they did beat Tenn. so bad. I believe that game was a wake-up call to my Vols. I think that kansas and Memphis are both overrated. (but half of that will be determined this Sat. @ Memphis). ...btw this is the first time Tenn. has been ranked as high as #2..ever..I believe they were 3rd or 4th when they played Texas....The seeds wont matter too much as long as you win them all come tourney time!! Peace out.

They have lost more games, against teams of lesser quality. Un fortunately a loss to a bad team does a lot more damage then a win against a better team.

Where did Purdue come from!? Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but they were horrible last year. Now there going to become a number 3 seed, according to the seed rankings.

You have to be kidding me.  Stanford a [3] seed.  There best wins are against Arizona and Washington St and and  they have a 92 SOS.  They did not play a single decent team outside the PAC 10 and have losses against Seinia (102) and Arizona St (82).    Not to mention the fact that the PAC 10 is the most overrated conference in the NCAA

I think Stanford is going to be exposed early in the tournament.  They might win their first couple of games and get into the sixteen but I guess that all depends on the road they travel.  I just don't see how they could have improved that much from last year when they took that good ol a$$ whoopin the Cards gave em.
