I believe that dangerranger made a thread about the projections for the Mets using pecota and zip... I am going to make my own personal projections based off of my own thoughts... tell me what you think...

The format is Batting average, Homeruns, Rbi, SB

Reyes- .302   16   74   71  He is going to look to redeem himself all season long after last year so look for some nice big numbers like this

Castillo- .296   3   61   19   I say about the same as last year... only a bit more speed after having his knee cleaned out in the offseason...

Wright- .316   32   119   28   Look for an mvp run like last year...

Beltran- .276   36   108   21   About the same as last year slightly higher batting average...

Delgado- .268   30   102   2   He is going to make a rebound because I think he is in a walk year...

Alou- .297   21   78   4   I say he will play over 100 games this year... he is the man..

Church- .281   22   86   11   The first time he is playing on a contender and a full season of starting... he will exceed expectations...

Schneider/Castro Combined- .254   15   68   2   They will split playing time probably on a 65/35 ratio with Brian getting more work... but when castro does play he will give the lineup a nice boost...

Now for the pitching

The format is: Wins, Losses, ERA, Innings pitched, and K's

Santanna- 21   6   2.81   234   242   He is switching from the american league into a large field without a dh... so expect the games best pitcher to put up his cy young numbers

Pedro- 16   9   3.31   182   190   He is a hall of famer he continually reinvents his style going from power to finesse... Look for the vintage pedro to return...

Maine- 18   10   3.19   212   201   He is a sleeper i think... He is going to have a huge year...

Perez- 13   10   3.96   189   191   Look for maybe 2 small stints on the DL... otherwise he will be amazing at times and bad at others... he is a head case but should do well

El Duque/Pelfrey- 14   8   4.16   198   201   Hernandez will probably start off the year and will get injured in June and then Pelfrey will come up from AAA and do well... than once orlando is healthy again Pelfrey will retain the rotation spot and Duque will join Wagner and Bros... in the pen

I hope you enjoyed my projections lets just hope they turn out that way over the course of the season...

Not a bad pitching projections, 82 wins from 5-6 starters, which should easily put Mets over 100 wins for the year.  I agree with Delgado's line, think that he should bounce back and also read that he reported in much better shape to Spring training.  I think Santana could win closer to 25 games and of course Reyes, Wright and Beltran will have huge years if healthy (Beltran).

Well i hope you're right, but i doubt it.  With those projections we should win 120+ games.  You have all 5 starters in the teens for wins?  When was the last time that happened in baseball?

intimidator if you knew how to count the record comes to about 82 and 43 I believe... so that is nowhere near 120 wins...

sure you take into account the games where they will have no descisions but... even so they will be nowhere near 120 wins....

i say they will finish up somewhere along the lines of 98-64...

If Pedro gets 16 wins for the Mets this year it will be a great year.

I like the sounds of your predictions...but like the team it looks great on paper, they just need to go out on the field and do it now....Delgado I feel will have a great year, because he is nearing the end of his contract and when he is a free agent he will sign with another team...Pedro I don't think will have as many wins as you project, but he will also have less loses...Perez will have a huge year this year, mostly because he is a free agent after this season (because of boras(s))...and as to El Duque, I couldn't agree more with you on that, Pelfrey will come up and show as to why he belongs in the big show...but like I said this all looks good on paper, and it can be better or worse from what is written here...

Looking at your old predictions - both here and the ones on May 1st - it looked like you went from WS champ like numbers to giving up hope real quick.  you have 5 pitchers with winning records totaling 72 - 43 record before you even factor in BP and other fill in starters (figueroa and vargas for example).  4 guys above or around .300 having amazing years etc etc.

Then on May 1st without going back to check your other predictions that you boast were correct - you're basically saying sell the whole team.

I must say at Ma
