I just wanted to post some info on the way our Warning system works.
If you get warned, your reputation takes a hit. If that warning is overruled, your reputation is returned to its previous state.
However, if YOU are the one who issues a bogus warning that is overruled, YOU will be the one taking that reputation hit.
We give all users one freebie when it comes to warnings, but if you continue to issue bogus warnings, you will see your reputation go down.
Basically, this is supposed to keep all warnings legitimate. Warnings because of a difference of opinion or because of a personal conflict will (usually) be overruled. So don't warn arbitrarily. Only warn someone who legitimately requires warning, unless you want to see your own reputation affected.
Our Warning guidelines, for those not familiar with them.
Any questions? Post them here. I know it's the weekend, so it might take a little longer to get your questions answered, but we will get to them

Cole - I appreciate your post and all the other information you and others provide for us here. While high reps are nice that's not the reason I started posting here about a year ago. Since that time I've seen both ends of what you are talking about. My question is how can a warning get overruled yet the post that got warned is removed? Having reviewed the TOS and other things on the community home I find it contradictary. I know you are not an Admin. but hope you can shed some light for those of us who are "dazed & confused". Thanks and keep the posts coming...bluejay

bluejay39, my understanding is that some times threads/posts are removed for content (not being sports related, trying to cause trouble or drama, or just being generally inappropriate) that isn't strong enough to merit a warning. It's more of a 'clean up' sort of thing. So, since just having a post deleted doesn't hurt your rep in any way, the admins pull it, but don't issue a warning (or uphold a warning given).
With that said, I know they've been trying to clean up the warnings and challenges in the past few months, so it might have just been an oversight to overrule the warning. Since I don't have the specific post, I can't tell for sure.
The Help Center can clarify for you further, since they're the ones that handle issues with challenges, warnings and post deletions.

Thanks Cole. That route hasn't worked for me in the past (asking questions to the help center) as they don't respond so I don't waste my time. I do appreciate your response. and the effort you guys put in...bluejay

I can appreciate the Warning system. It's a good thing and is needed.
What I have an issue with are ADMINS abusing their power and removing posts they have a personal problem with, while not removing others that are made for the EXACT same reason.
example...
I had a poll removed "WHOS THE BIGEST SKUNK BEARS TROLL?" because it was "only making personal attacks". That's fine, I understand that.
But this post was made in response to "WORST SUCKEYE TROLL ON TUOFM BOARD" which is located on the MIchigan football boards, and is doing the EXACT same thing as the one I had removed. Only there for personal attacks.
The Admin "CBS ADMIN 3" that removed it is obviously a poster (that uses a different name when he posts) who has a problem with me. Yes, the thread Imade was directed towards him, but an ADMIN should not be able to descriminate between posts that he PERSONALLY likes.

basicems24, I know that removals haven't always been the most consistent, but measures have been put in place recently that will hopefully see a more consistent moderation approach. If you're seeing things removed that shouldn't be, drop the Help Center a line for investigation.

This is the funniest thing I ever read. Get over yourself. I did not warn you because I take my shots like a man, and move on. You run and tell momma. Take a look at all the warnings I have dished out, then look at basics...Warning an admin. come. I am not an Admn. get that through your skull. Now if you were a man, you would delete the warnings you issued. Avoid the Michigan board and get onwith your life.
