I must say that the man that is probably the 2nd most likely pick isnt listed and thats Derrick Rose. OJ Mayo, for his own sake, shouldnt go to the NBA this year. Hansbrough probably wont be amazing in the NBA. Love admittedly i dont know much about besides he might be undersized to play center in the NBA and not athletic enough for PF. You also didnt list DeAndre Jordan or Brook Lopez

Im guessing you just watch sportcenter and they are the names most often said as high performers. if you went by that logic JJ Reddick and Adam Morrison would be stars by now.

Don't get me wrong Beasley is a good player but i think they should draft O.J. Mayo because Al Jefferson is kinda already our big guy and Al Jefferson wouldn't probably get as much play time? Either that or Beasley wouldn't get much play time.

I am a Mayo guy myself. I think he'd open up the court more for Foye and Jefferson.  Not that I don't like Telfair.  He doesn't turn it over much, and he gets a number of assists.  But Mayo will be better than Marbury, and he could be the best point this franchise as ever had.  (Brandon, Marbury, Billups, Richardson, Foye, Jaric, Hudson, Cassell)  Guess that's not too hard.  Although Beasley is a beast!  But two beasts tends not to work when put together.  (Portland - B.Grant, R.Wallace or Lakers - Shaq and K.Malone).

The prpblem i have with Beasley is that he will play PF same as big Al.  Dont get me wrong i really like Beasley and if the Wolves think he can play SF and become a guy like Antawn Jamison then maybe.  I really like Derek Rose he would be my choice, i think taking the best guard avalaible, while trying to find a defensive minded center, if thats through the draft or through free agency.

OJ Mayo shouldnt even be a consideration. Rose is the better PG.

Michael Beasley Is without a doubt my First Choice to take in the Draft if we get him or not is a different story. I also like Derrick Rose from Memphis. He runs a fast pace point something I think the wolves could use.

Madness has it right.  Beasley plays the same position as Big Al, who we've basically staked our future on.  Jefferson has been a good soldier this season manning the C spot while running small ball, but he won't be happy doing it for long.  If we end up with one of the top picks, Rose would be a much better option.  He's a floor leader and would allow Foye to move back over to his more natural SG spot to be a play maker and stop forcing him to think so much.

However, if we don't end up that high, I would expect  DeAndre Jordan from A&M or Brook Lopez from Stanford to be the pick.  Both would potentially give Big Al a low post mate to take the pressure off him and both have styles that wouldn't get in his way.  Jordan will take a little bit longer to be a major contributor, but in the meantime, he's a good shot blocker and defensive guy.  Think a younger Theo Ratliff.  Lopez is more of a scorer, but in a finesse way.  He doesn't bang like Jefferson does, but will still get his rebounds and is more ready to contribute right now.  Neither would suprise me.  Neither would really dissapoint me, either.  The most glaring need right now is center.  Brewer will eventually find his stroke and figure out how to score.  Gomes is a good glue guy.  Ditto Craig Smith.  Foye can run the offense if he has to and can still score.  If only this were last year and there was a great center in the draft.  In any case, and you can take note of this now, Beasley will not be the pick.  It just doesn't make sense.  It would be like the Rockets drafting Hibbert.

I think Jefferson would be a fantastic center, he has been playing it so far and doing very well. Beasley would be a great compliment to Jefersons game. Beasley has a very good outside game. You put both on the court let Jefferson bang and Beasley play a more finesse game and they would be amazing together. I think the only reason people don't consider Jefferson a center is because he is not 7 feet tall.

It probably wouldn't be a terrible idea.  There are a few problems with this theory however.  First off, the Suns have proven that small ball works during the season, but inevitably comes up short in the postseason.  The second, and perhaps larger factor is that even though Jefferson may work ok as a center, Jefferson both doesn't want to play center, nor does he consider himself as a center.  He is a natural PF and though you may not hear about it, his desire is to play the position in the long run.  He can't guard the Yao Ming's of the league, nor does he want to.  Like I said already, he's played the good soldier so far this season and played out of position, but eventually it would present a problem if they continue to play him there past this season.  As a sports journalist, albeit in another market, I am privy to some inside information.  I do have some inside links to not only the Wolves, but the Twins and Vikings.  I can tell you that Jefferson's wish is that the Wolves find a regular center so he can move back to PF.  I believe from what I've heard that drafting Beasley and playing small ball is not in the Wolves' plans.  McHale wants a prototypical center to place next to Jefferson, and rotate Jefferson into center when the reserves come in.  Beasley may be a great player, but he won't be in the Wolves crosshairs come draft time.

Between Jordan and Lopez id have to say Jordan mainly because defense would be key for a center next to big al. Jefferson is a good scorer but a sub-par defender and it would be nice to have a guy that could guard any talented scoring big men we could possibly face.

I'm sorry everybody, but Micheal Beasley is good enough/athletic enough to play SF. Lets not forget, He is BY FAR the best prospect coming in next season. Right now, he is as good as, if not better then Kevin Durant. He will win ROY.

If the T'Wolves can't seem to realize all this, then I hope they get either Rose or Jordan. Fill a need if they don't want the best ball player.

I agree that Beasley is athletic enough to be a small forward. But right now the the Timberwolves have the second worst record in the NBA. The Heat have the worst. And I think it would be easy to say that they pick Beasley. And I'm okay with that if we pick Derrick Rose. I might even pick him over Beasley.

There's no guarantee that the T-Wolves will have a top pick. Last year the Celtics had the second worst record and ended up with the 5th pick.

Its gotta be a forward or center, they aren't gonna draft gordon they don't need another short 2.  They could take Rose but the way telfair has played this year it doesn't seem like a huge need.  Obviously the first choice has to be beasley the guys is just sick.  But if they can't get him i would say a center like Deandre Jordan or Lopez.  That way big al can move to PF.

Ray Allen?Brandon Roy?Monta Ellis? Geesh thinking about McHale really sucks.....I bet he going to draft kevin love....? or Hansborough......!!!!!
