How about this, which fans are more loyal, driver based fans or team based fans. I was a very big fan of Rusty Wallace and Penske Racing. After Rusty retired Kurt got the ride, I never liked Bush he came in with a lot of baggage, from the DUI when he first came to Penske to now. Just because I don't like the driver am I suppose to leave Penske? All I know how to do is root for the 2

redo take over. how many new fans cheer for their company's car and driver? it kills me that so many people new to racing cheer for their employers sponsored car, with no knowledge of nascar. i work for lennox international and lennox pays millions to have two decals on the " blue duece "back rear window slants, it was cool when rusty drove the car now it erks me to no end to have our companys logo on the miller sled. where does your loyalty lie with your company and their car ? or your personal favorite team and driver?

With NASCAR having changed the Championship format by adapting the 10 race chase Format where little value is actually put on the first 26 races and the major emphasis being placed on who's the hotest in the final 10 events to determine a Champion.., do you think that modern day Champions will get the same respect over time that Champions under the original format have?
