Last nights win over the Sharks went a long way to help move up the standings. With only 5 points back of a playoff spot, things are definitely in place for a playoff berth this year as we are playing the teams we have to beat. However, it's still a longshot as the Oilers record against divisional opponents isn't what it should be. It's weird though. The sun always seems to shine on a lonely dogs a$$ somewhere, and this year, it could just as well be the Oilers.
Even if they don't make the playoffs this year, things are looking pretty decent to keep Anaheim out of the lottery.
