Mrs1iron,

Now you're carping Tiger Woods reminds you of Ernie Els?

You're a pesky little mosquito aren't you?  I see you like to distort/spin the words of others like a few other gnats in here...it's a nasty habbit and I wouldn't recommend it.  It will kill your cred.  I didn't say Tiger reminds me of Ernie.  Els driving accuracy stats back to at least 2004 were very similar to Tigers over the same years.  I think Els has/had one hell of a swing which is why I mentioned it in my first post.  It is completely different from Tiger's.  Unfortunately that swing has let him down recently...which is why he is visiting Harmon now.  I wouldn't say Tiger is headed in the wrong direction pud slap.

Anyone can cut and paste what the pros/experts say there Capt. Obvious.  Uh oh...I think I heard a BINGO...you better double check your card and ante up another dime...or two quarters if you're playing five cards.  Did you get your Wayne Newton tickets yet?

050108 - I hate to burst your bubble, but Jack Nicklaus'  swing does not even gain top 100 status as far as a swing goes; so much for technique; otherwise your list is right on target; I would add Adam Scott to your list and forget about Jack.  Great post, however.

Cher,

Very disappointing.

In your latest post you now write, "I didn't say Tiger reminds me of Ernie."

Oh really? Well, let’s just check the tape and see what you DID write, shall we?

(your words verbatim): "These stats look remarkably similar to Ernie Els driver accuracy stats".

Hmmm, even the jury from O.J.’s criminal trial would have trouble believing your denial.

Hey listen, we all make mistakes that we want to "do over". We all say things we want to retract. Well, too bad, so sad but there are no "do overs" with me.

I guess my rebuttal to your earlier post showing Ernie Els’ driving stats 10 percentages points better than Tiger’s annoyed the hell out of you. Well, rather than get mad, let that be a lesson to you. Facts speak louder than hyperbole, especially your hyperbole.

And okay, I admit my immediate follow-up of the article from Hall of Famer teacher and former Golf Digest Instructional Editor BobToski stating, "Tiger may never develop a swing as good as Hogan’s", was perhaps a bit over the top given your puerile debating abilities. But, hey that’s only one EXPERT’S opinion, as opposed to your gifted anal ruminations.

Listen Cher, I am way smarter than you. Can't you see that? As a former member of the PGA, I have taught hundreds of golfers and have played competitively for over 30 years. I laugh at "nubies" like you and your inane posts you feel compelled to thrust upon the witless masses.

Stick to what you know, which sadly appears to be very little. Example? You now gush forth the following declaration, "I wouldn't say Tiger is headed in the wrong direction".

Really? So, according to you Tiger’s driving accuracy is headed in the RIGHT direction?

Review his stats before he got with Hank Haney.

In the period between 1997 and 2002 Tiger Woods won eight (8) Majors. Since 2003 he has won five (5).

Between 2005 and last month’s Masters, Tiger finished 2nd four times in the Majors. But, check the tapes and see how many times during the 2005 U.S. Open, in the 2007 Masters, and the 2007 U.S. Open Tiger was in the trees or in the rough scrambling for par and taking birdie completely out of the equation.

Better, how about last month's Masters. Do you remember his tee shot on 14 and 17 on Thursday? Or his tee shot on 18 Friday and his tee ball on 17 Sunday?

Do you recall his play on the Par 5 fifteenth? Because of his poor driving Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Tiger made three straight pars there - while much of the field were making two-putt birdies.

Professional and top flight amateur golf is all about position. Position off the tee, position on the green. It is NOT about scrambling to make pars.

The media may choose to write about the handful of birdie putts he missed at Augusta, but they are overlooking how many times Tiger never gave himself a look at birdie in the first place because he was out of position on the fairway, or was scrambling out of the trees and pine straw.

Had Tiger drove the ball with the same accuracy during the last five years as he did during his first six, he would probably be within one or two Majors of Jack’s record today.

And, trust me smarty pants, I could spot you five a side, and take you for your mortgage and pink slip. I am a learned student of the game and its rich history. I write better posts than you, I readily supply facts, and I give references and provide quotes from the experts.

You? You give us your misguided opinions sprinkled with the usual assortment of juvenile curses and addled brain defamations.

Me? I carry a single digit index and have a golf game and shot-making skills you will never possess.

Go to SCGA.org and look up Tiger Woods’ win in the 1994 SoCal Amateur at Hacienda C.C. I was in the field and I’ve seen Tiger at his best. The way he is driving it today is far from his best.

Chow.

P.S. -  Cher, one last thing.  Just because we're pals now, let me close by saying you should go easy on the eyeliner there girl.  Even with Hi-Def monitors, we hardly take note of those stretch marks on your eyelids these days.  I'm sure your customers feel the same way.

you know what mister?....it's sad that you ALWAYS attack someone. why?..i'll give  you some props. .you seem to be very good at research, and analysis.....but however, you ALSO are excellent at trying to convince others of your superiority, and intellect. again, WHY?....you could bring a lot to these golf discussions, that we ALL could enjoy and discuss, but you are soooo obsessed with humiliating everyone, that we immediately dislike you, and it always becomes a pissing contest..again...WHY?.....CHER is probably one of the most  well liked AND SMART people on these threads, but yet, YOU for some reason, feel the need to try and degrade HIM, thats right idiot, HIM, for no reason other than to satisfy YOUR overblown sense of self-worth. there is so much hate and venom spewing forth from your posts, that the rest of us cant seem to find the actual INTELLIGENT PARTS OF THEM. and the sad part is MISTER, that there ARE parts of your posts that i personally find very succinct, and observant! but the problem is, YOU only want to degrade everyone that happens to have an OPINION,or GASP!  a different view of an event, or trend.

let me close mister1iron, by saying that I am NOT  a student of the game, in that i dont research, and pontificate, like some other people here. it's just NOT my nature. BUT, I do know PEOPLE. and you are attacking someone that is both fun to read, and also, smarter than YOU give HIM credit for, and i dont think that i am ALONE in thinking this .maybe, just maybe, if you stop trying to one-up EVERYONE ,you might find that you and the rest of us might have a lot in COMMON.

jus sayin'.....

iho.....

Mr 1 Iron: I agree with BabyG and IHO: You have a lot to bring to this message board, but criticizing everything everyone says and trying to 1-up everybody is not necessary. If you know as much as you claim to know, and are as intelligent as you claim to be, it will become obvious in your posts and no self-proclamation is necessary. People who have to tell everyone just how intelligent they are usually turn out to be not nearly as intelligent as they think they are. Let us be the judge of that. Also, most of the posts on this board are simply people stating their opinions ... no one that I've read claims to be an expert at the game of golf (not until now at least.) It doesn't require super intelligence to state an opinion, but it does require a certain amount of stupidity to think that you can challenge everyone single opinion by rattling off a bunch of statistics. Statistics can be interpreted many different ways and don't generally end up prooving anything.
