Anubis, my little group isn't taking Tiger, but everyone else should. The key to scoring a lot at fantasy golf is getting one or more golfers who finish in the top 5. After that, the money falls off pretty quick. There isn't much difference in the points or money between the golfer who finishes 12th and the one who finishes 25th.
So picking the winner, or one or more of the top 5 will get you more points that getting all 5 golfers in the 15 to 25 range. The winner of the tournament usually gets over $1,000,000 and you get one point for each dollar they earn. But by the time you get to 10th place, it might be below $100,000. So the higher you can get one golfer, the better your score will be.
My group doesn't take Tiger just because we bet on the outcome each week and since we would all take Tiger, there is no advantage to it. So it would be like only having 4 golfers scoring against each other. Tiger is such a no-brainer pick, that I think he should be much higher in price, like maybe $400,000 in salary to make it more of a question if you should take him or not.
