-G'day, Rock, Yank, et al! Welcome Cleveland! Huey & Co. are coming here to Osaka with Chicago in a couple of months- Might be checking that one out...
-Just knocked off work, the missus broght me home some good sushi & beer to wash it down, and since this was on top of the pile, what the hey?
Now Playing:
Albert Collins Ice Pickin'
Ice Pickin' is the album that brought Albert Collins directly back into the limelight, and for good reason, too. The record captures the wild, unrestrained side of his playing that had never quite been documented before. Though his singing doesn't quite have the fire or power of his playing, the album doesn't suffer at all because of that — he simply burns throughout the album. Ice Pickin' was his first release for Alligator Records and it set the pace for all the albums that followed. No matter how much he tried, Collins never completely regained the pure energy that made Ice Pickin' such a revelation.
-I regret not having been able to see Albert in concert efore he passed away. He put on quite a show...

Hi Rock and YLG, and everybody. Just got a new quad-core PC, so I've been ripping a whole lot of my CD collection. What took forty five minutes, now takes 5. Plus the burner and software is great. Anyway, going through the Tom Petty catalog, I opened the Into the Great Wide Open case, and no CD. So I've been hunting used CD stores. Didn't find the Petty, but got a whole lot of other goodies. Right now it's Come Dancing with the Kinks: I forgot how much I really like Destroyer, Better Things, Don't Forget to Dance, and Celluloid Heroes. Sorry for the long post, but this has me jacked.

JG, did he do Frosty, Mastercard, or You Talk too Much? He was one, funny, talented dude. Hi DF, long time. Love the album cover. Jeff is my next rip-burn project. I'm like a little kid, finding and organizing my music collection. I was bummed when the old PC crashed, but it was a blessing in disguise. I highly recommend destroying your old computer!

I am using Yahoo music jukebox for conventional ripping-burning. It automatically downloads the track information and images of the album jackets (I used to have scan stuff, or type in the info by hand). For some reason, I have to use Windows Media Player for certain CDs? For messing, I'm using Adobe Sound Booth.
